Owen Bailey has hardly had a kick today. This doesn’t work with Bails and Hutchinson in the 10s IMO. #DRFC
Rovers travel to Leicester City this weekend in what will be the first time the two have met since our last Championship match, an ill-fated 1-0 defeat at the King Power in 2014 that relegated Rovers to the third tier. A real 'what-if' game in our history.
Riyad Mahrez was brought down by James Husband in the box. Many saw it as a dive. Penalty given. David Nugent stepped up to smash his penalty past Sam Johnstone to give Leicester the only goal the game needed.
But it was events at Bolton Wanderers that sealed Rovers' fate. A Rovers loss and a point for Birmingham at Bolton would send Donny down. And a 93rd minute Blues equaliser did exactly that. #DRFC
Tough end to October for Rovers, but some tantalising ones in there to say the least. How many points do we get from these 4? 👇
Leicester City (A)
Stockport County (H)
Sheffield Wednesday (H)
Luton Town (A)
Anything above 6 would be good IMO.

A happy 147th birthday to
@drfc_official today. 🎂
On 3rd October 1879 Rovers travelled to Rawmarsh and there played their first match as Doncaster Rovers.
In three years time (2029) the 150th anniversary of #DRFC will be celebrated.
Excellent to see Seán Grehan and Bayley McCann both scoring for Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland U21's.
Leon Ayinde earned his 3rd U21 cap for ROI. Tommy Simkin an unused sub for England U21 in our 4-2 win over Kazakhstan. Great experiences for them. #DRFC
There should be serious implications here. Big points deduction, transfer embargo, kick them out of Europe/FA Cup for next few years, transfer embargo etc.
But you can't be rescinding titles and retrospectively handing titles to teams who failed IMO. Line should drawn there.

"There was literally nothing on the training ground, nobody around him.
He just passed the ball and felt something. I'm gutted for him, absolutely gutted for him. But I know Frankie's a really positive person."
A worry? 😳 #DRFC
Wimbledon away last season. 90th minute Owen Bailey winner.
More of the same tomorrow please Bails. #DRFC
What a player Mallik Wilks was for us. Now playing for Turkish 2nd Division side Mardin 1969 Spor. #DRFC
Every good Grant McCann Rovers side has had one thing in common. An electric front three that you could name before you'd even got through the turnstile.
First spell: Coppinger, Wilks, Marquis.
The 10 in a row run: Molyneux, Adelakun, Ironside.
Title-winning season: Molyneux, Gibson, Street.
Direct, exciting, goals galore. Ask me to name this season's version and I'm stuck. Ayinde, Adelakun, Thomas, O’Reilly, Hanlan, May. Is there a 3 out of those guys that can give us the formula? #DRFC
It would be nice to see some sort of system/pattern of play whereby the defence move the ball to midfield along the floor so we can create.
I don't think our defenders are good enough on the ball, but this also seems a coaching issue at the moment.
Positives are fairly sparse but we are only 5 games in with a new squad. Rovers need to start showing at least some promising signs soon though. The football needs to improve. #DRFC
McGrath has completed 15 of 66 attempted long balls so far this season thats 22% accuracy, can’t wait to travel to Wimbledon To watch that become 18 of 80. Oooo aaaa jay McGrath. Honking to watch, 4th season, 7 windows 61 signings and that’s our style of play. Hit n hope #DRFC
Astonishing that the recruitment team didn't think we needed any new defenders this season. Criminal. It looks a League Two level defence. #DRFC
Rovers have looked sharper in attack today. Hanlan has been a handful but should have made it 1-0.
Defending looks suspect thought. Got away with that disallowed one. #DRFC

Centre back Graeme Lee, signed to replace the departing centre back Steve Foster, scores an 89th minute winner away at Scunthorpe United in just his second Rovers appearance in January 2006
Ironically, Foster was making his debut for the opposition. #DRFC
Ayinde lots to prove and untested at the level. Haks way out of form. Thomas slow start and has only started one league game. Interesting take from McCann. #DRFC
“We feel like we've got five really good wide players. So it'd be very unlikely for Glenn to play in our team from this point onwards.”

If we’re after a centre half before the window closes, one who is comfortable on the ball and can distribute well please 🙏
Would improve us massively and been calling it for ages we need a defender of this profile. #DRFC
