It's almost 300 near my place and 500 downtown #Singapore. I have to fly back for a night tomorrow. Legit thinking of just getting a hotel at the airport so I don't even have to leave... 🙄

Ok let me explain how cool this is from my perspective , please RT! I developed one of the first methods to probe RNA structure in high throughput inside living cells, and it takes tons of time and $$ to apply on thousands of viruses - it’s practically impossible. This ML approach is just as good and works in seconds for nearly free ! Not only that, it highlights the MOST IMPORTANT structures that track with function. It’s the future of RNA strucute prediction and discovery across all families 🔥 biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

The best things in life often come when you least expect them… especially when you’re not continually setting expectations for them to occur. Focus on the routine and the rewards will follow. Today is going to be a good day.

I'm very happy to be a recipient of the 2026 NRF Investigatorship grant from the National Research Foundation Singapore. We will develop new computational methods that use long read sequencing data to study genetic diseases in the Asian population. github.com/GoekeLab

When we view us not as an isolated ego, but as a vast, interconnected holobiont—a collective of human cells and trillions of symbiotic microbes—we begin to see that cancer is not always a singular cellular silo @CR_UK news.cancerresearchuk.org/20…

Are you a #PhD or #postdoc planning to go on the faculty job market this Fall? I wrote this post back in 2021 but continue to update it with useful data and insights. Postdocs should also join @FuturePI_Slack for peer support & more resources. christophertsmith.com/reflec…
