IIMM Conceals the Arson and Destruction Committed by AA Terrorists While Creating a Narrative to Seek International Funding Along the Bangladesh Border
-----#WhatsHappeningInMyanmar
The State Government has already made systematic arrangements, in accordance with the law, for reception camps to support the safe and orderly repatriation process of displaced persons currently in Bangladesh. These arrangements are being carried out in cooperation with ASEAN and neighboring countries, with appropriate verification procedures in place before return.
---
In Rakhine State, displacement in the border areas has occurred as a result of actions by the AA terrorist group, including the burning and destruction of villages belonging to local ethnic communities and Muslim residents, the forced recruitment of people for military training, and attacks carried out while using schools and hospitals as protective positions.
---
Although systematic preparations have been made for the repatriation of displaced persons in accordance with the 2017 bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the repatriation process has been further delayed due to interference by the AA terrorist group and overseas organizations pursuing vested interests.
It has been observed that media outlets hostile to the State have selectively presented statements made by Nicholas Koumjian, Head of the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM), following his visit to Bangladesh, in a manner intended to create misunderstanding within the international community regarding the image of the State and its security forces.
---
The security forces are systematically carrying out law enforcement measures to maintain peace and stability in the area and to protect the lives, homes, and property of local residents.
---
Some international organizations, including the IIMM, are alleged to rely on unsubstantiated and false information obtained through one-sided contacts with terrorist groups in order to exert politically motivated pressure on the State and to secure continued funding for the survival of their organizations.
---
Therefore, the Myanmar Patriotic Team urges the public and the international community not to accept the one-sided propaganda of the IIMM and hostile media outlets, which are concealed the actions of the AA terrorist group and portrayed the State in a negative manner. Instead, the public and the international community are encouraged to carefully examine the facts concerning the State’s systematic efforts to restore peace and stability in Rakhine State.
