It's not easy producing 3-4 shows a week that strive to provide listeners w/ more than the usual thoughtless infotainment brain-candy pabulum. Please help me keep Parallax Views going by contributing to Parallax Views on Patreon.

Damn, the UK has somehow managed to top its video nasties era nonsense with this moral panic-driven nanny statism over kinks.
Telling that an insidiously self-satisfied, romanticist fantasist like Sorkin is liberalism's voice on screen today. Contrast to Lumet, a fierce liberal, but not a deluded idealist about institutions, their failings, individualism, & the fragility of liberal order.
Congrats to @TonyMaglio for writing the only worthwhile piece on the whole Shane Gillis SNL monologue. Hit on the nexus between the attention economy, SNL's audience, Gillis' constructed persona (spot on observation: Gillis is more self-aware than he lets on), etc.
Still feeling a bit down about Ori's passing. I've recorded an intro to the second part of the Parallax Views tribute to him, featuring to interviews I did with him.

Hello, this is Avigail, Ori’s eldest daughter. I’m sorry to tell you that my dad passed away tonight, after a long battle with colon cancer. He was 50 years old.
RIP @ori_goldberg. Ori wasn't just a guest on my show, he was someone that became a friend. His thoughtful but incisive commentary was appreciated, but what stood out to me most was his openness about facing death. We spoke about it off-air last time. He was one of a kind.
I've reposted our first interview. I'll likely be reposting the rest throughout this week. This one is a real loss.
