If you want to build a huge company, you have to win the US market! In the last few decades, European companies have tended to serve only their home markets for way too long. By the time they then wanted to expand, the big US competitor was already eating their lunch. In the last year, I've seen a shift in the mindset, and nowadays European companies: - Sell to the US from Day 1 - Raise from the US from Day 1 - Open up a first US office at Seed/Series A In my opinion, that's exactly the right way to do it. Build in Europe, but leverage the benefits the US offers for doing business. I flew to New York to visit Marius, the CEO of Peec AI, and his team at their brand-new US office. They expanded to go head-to-head with the biggest competitor in their home market (it's a US company) - A thing way too few European companies do.
