Why Stoics Don’t Care About Haters…
- You love yourself more than other people, but you’re going to care about their opinions more than your own? (Marcus Aurelius)
- Why become a philosopher if you’re going to follow the mob? (Chrysippus)

If @nithyavraman becomes LA Mayor, @spencerpratt should move to her district and run for her open seat.
They hate Nithya so much that he’d win in a landslide.
New from me: a dishy look inside the already-underway shadow primary to replace Nithya Raman in CD 4, should she vacate the seat lamaterial.com/p/la-cd4-coun…

This is just so sad. Please turn off the iPad. You really can talk to your kids, read to your kids, and play with your kids. (Also who is giving a three-year-old more than four hours of screen time per day??)

🚨This is an absolute outrage. At least a million hardworking Californians have fled the state over the last decade because they can’t afford the sky-high gas, electric, insurance and housing bills.
But illegal immigrants are welcomed with freebies while Gavin Newsom turned a surplus into tens of billions of debt.
EXCLUSIVE: California has created a shadow welfare system for illegal aliens. Free housing, cash, healthcare, food, phones, college tuition, even car insurance—costing taxpayers more than $10 billion per year.
We went inside the system and exposed it all.

The only parenting advice I find useful: You can't teach your kids anything. You just have to embody the things you want them to learn. Make a list of the traits and values you want your kids to have. Then make sure you're living by them every single day. That's really it.

The Current reported the street-sweeping mess last year: ticketed cars during missed sweeps. Now, the city is confirming it. The city says about 2,000 street-sweeping tickets were issued in error in 2025 and about 350 drivers have not yet been reimbursed.

I met with a hospitality group ready to bring six new concepts to the abandoned North Side of the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica.
Their two questions are the same ones business owners and investors ask me all the time: Why is the Promenade so empty? And will City Hall still have our back a year from now? My answer is yes, but only if we elect a council that treats jobs and storefronts as a public trust.
Clear rules. Safe streets. Fast permits. No bait-and-switch after the ribbon cutting.
Six concepts at once would prove Santa Monica is open for business again.
