If you are not familiar with OS licenses you should get some professional advice. In one environment a GPL license can cause big trouble & law suits. In another environment you might use it without any problems. That depends on many factors.

If you are using Ruby on Rails (#RoR) you should upgrade to the newest versions, otherwise, you might have some license compliance issues. All older versions are affected by the GPL-2.0 license! This is related to the #mimemagic fiasco!

Rails 5.2.5, 6.0.3.6 and 6.1.3.1 have been released! These versions directly packages MIME type data adapted from Apache Tika, released under the permissive and compatible Apache License 2.0.

Just checked out the Ruby 3.0 Release Notes. Impressive! 3 times faster than Ruby 2. With the "Ractor" model it supports real concurrency on multiple cores. And with "Fiber" it has a build-in event loop, similar to NodeJS.
