Okinawa is basically a rape and murder theme park for US soldiers and the Japanese are fine with it
We are aware that a US service member is in custody following the death of a Japanese national in Okinawa. We extend our sincere condolences to the victim’s family. As an investigation is underway to determine the facts of the case, the United States is communicating and cooperating with the Government of Japan and local authorities. @IIIMEF

BREAKING: Yemen's Houthis appear to have struck the Saudi Aramco oil refinery at Rabigh on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, with new satellite imagery today showing a black smoke plume roughly 80 km trailing away from the site and the fire centred on the oil storage tanks and pressurised storage vessels.
NASA FIRMS recorded a fire radiative power of 126 megawatts at the refinery, with a reading of 367 Kelvin, the ceiling the sensor can register, meaning the fire is hotter than the data shows.
It is the first strike on the 400,000 barrels per day refinery since March 2022.

lula levou energia para o nordeste que em pleno século 21 centenas de pessoas ainda viviam usando lâmpada de querosene. existem famílias que conheceram a energia elétrica há apenas 20 anos. não é preciso explicar mais nada.
in hindsight Lila should have banned every evangelical church that has ties to the US as they are literal CIA ops and a national security threat

this is exactly why democracy and right-wing populism is so bleak. Lula successfully brought down poverty, unemployment, food insecurity and still lost because of the massive bourgeoisie media apparatus and evangelicalism. the people have been herded towards the reactionaries

i don’t think ppl truly grasp that, if Bolsonaro Jr. wins in Brazil, the Amazon rainforest is definitely FUCKED, just when we’re reaching a point of no-return in the climate crisis. this affects literally everybody on earth.

whoever said that “karl marx meant that religion was the opium of the masses in that it’s a form of medicine” was so backwards. religion is the opium of the masses in the way it makes them checked out of reality, evangelical voters just don’t fucking care about the material world
who’s ready for infinite data centers being built in the Amazon
BREAKING: Flavio Bolsonaro has defeated Brazilian President Lula da Silva in the first round of Brazil’s presidential election.
Bolsonaro received 47.3% of the vote, compared to 44.8% for Lula, with 98% of votes counted.
Neither candidate reached the 50% threshold needed to win outright, sending the election to an October 25th runoff.
This marks marking Lula’s first presidential election defeat since 1998.

BREAKING: Yemen's Houthis appear to have struck Saudi Arabia's East-West crude oil pipeline again, hitting Pumping Station No. 2 east of Riyadh. Sentinel-3 satellite imagery shows a black smoke plume roughly 50 km long over the site today.
NASA FIRMS recorded four heat anomalies at the station, with fire radiative power up to 88 megawatts and one reading at 367 Kelvin, the ceiling the VIIRS mid-infrared channel can register, meaning the fire is likely hotter than the data shows.
The pipeline is Saudi Arabia's only export route that does not pass through the Strait of Hormuz. It was shut on September 11 after the first wave of strikes and only partially restarted on September 22.
