Your understanding is wrong. Read some history. Jewish terror gangs -- Etzel, Lechi, Haganah -- attacked Palestinian communities for months before May 15, 1948. They killed thousands, expelled hundreds of thousands from their homes, destroyed those homes. Yafa, Haifa, smaller places like Deir Yasin.
Start by reading Thomas Suarez's "State of Terror" and Israeli historian Prof. Ilan Pappe's "Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine" -- all before the establishment of the state of Israel and the storied "invasion of five Arab armies".
If you don't read those books or others like them, you will simply be ignorant -- as I was until I read them.

U.S. citizenship was imposed on ME.
Very few people "shop around" for where they want to be citizens.
My understanding is that the expulsions were caused by warfare by an alliance of people from the Palestine region, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt.
When you lose a war, you suffer.

Don't twist my words.
Israeli citizenship was imposed on them. So was severe martial law for the next 18 years. Property was confiscated. Entire populations of Palestinians were expelled from their homes. The entire population of Majdal -- a completely Palestinian city later named Ashkelon by Israel -- was expelled into Gaza in 1949 after the armistice.
YOU won't know any of this if you stay stuck in your Hasbarist mindset. Read Ilan Pappe, Thomas Suarez, Rashid Khalidi. Be brave enough to face reality.

You misunderstand, brother. Itโs not about Judaism. I say that as a rabbi. Itโs about Jews. Itโs about Jews who steal, who kill, who violate our religion in the most basic, fundamental ways. Judaism itself is in conflict with the Zionist enterprise. Islam, as a religion that also calls for justice and mercy as Judaism does, also is in conflict with Zionism. NCCM has a moral obligation to do all it can to bring justice for Palestinians.
If you want to explore this further, I welcome an opportunity to dialogue with you.
I think it is a great fault and strategic error for Canadian Muslims to make the Israel/Hamas conflict, or alternatively, the Israel/Palestine conflict the, or among the, priority issue of focus within Canada. It places it within purely religious terms โputting Islam v. Judaismโand downplays the political nature of the conflict, and neglects the extent to which Hamasโ primary targets are Muslim.

For decades we have been lied to by zionists (historybooks, movies, docus) about how and why #Israel has the right to exist.
Here is another very informative, short documentary that tells the REAL story about this terrorist colonial genocidal project.

Zionists say Muslims have over 50 countries while Jews cannot even have one the size of New Jersey.
The comparison does not work.
Israel is not simply a country with a Jewish majority.
Its Nation-State Law claims to be the nation-state of Jews worldwide, inventing a political nationality for Jews who already belong to other countries.

Where on earth are you getting this from?
Do you know that after the Israeli expulsion of Palestinians in 1948, all those who remained were put under martial law in Israel until 1966? They could not leave their villages and towns without a travel pass. Thousands were imprisoned in labor camps.
You write as if you have never been there or seen it with your own eyes.
You say you "think" that I am just lying. Please look at yourself. That is a classic psychological defense mechanism to avoid having to re-evaluate tightly held beliefs. I am not lying about anything. My history in Israel goes back to 1971. I studied in university there. I studied in yeshivas there. I speak, read and write Hebrew. Why would I lie? Please look at where your beliefs come from. What makes you believe them?

You know that in the aftermath of the 1948 war, there was approx 200,000 Arabs in Israel proper. They were offered full citizenship, most accepted. Today they and their descendants number 2 million.
That is not what a people being ethnically cleansed experience.
In the entire Middle East, only the Arabs in Israel proper have all of their religious and civil rights protected by law.

The Arabs in Israel go about their daily lives, shop at Israeli malls, use Israeli services, frequent Israeli restaurants and bars, send their children to study at the many universities, and receive Israeli social and health benefits.

You know that Israeli Arabs are the most educated Arabs in the world, with the best living standards and opportunities in the region.
Arabs serve as judges in the Israeli Supreme Court;
Some of the best doctors in Israel are Arabs, working in almost every hospital in the country;
They vote in open and free elections. They can run for office in these elections.

In fact there are 10 Arab members of parliament who enjoy the right to criticize the government โ a right that they exhaust to the fullest โ protected by the freedom of speech;
