Effective Altruism is the natural enemy of the left and right because the right doesn't believe in altruism and the left doesn't believe in effectiveness.

Kinda like what the IAEA is for nuclear, I like it However it would require commitment from all member labs which would be really hard to get from the Chinese labs
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. Seems like a gimmick but there's a point to it If AI absolutely consumes the mathematics field there will be no-one who can verify new findings and find novel insights It should be more like a partnership than a battle, unfortunately the frontier labs see it like a cold war

Absolutely unsustainable When are these costs transferred to the consumer? What happens when it can't be subsidized by plans anymore?
OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar reveals the compute she bought a year ago is now worth 3 to 5x in the market "You know what is fabulous is that the compute I bought a year ago I could sell in the market today for 3 to 5x." "So if nothing else, a great investment. Now the bad news is that we're still short compute, so I should have bought more of it." "So I might live in the future, but my future still needs the screen to get a little clearer, higher fidelity."

OpenAI and Anthropic get 80% of revenue from 1% of customers, per proxy analysis by Ramp economist Ara Kharazian, not official figures by OpenAI or Anthropic

My Grandma uses ChatGPT - she calls it Chatty, and it gives her someone to talk to every day and helps her gain back some autonomy in her life by helping troubleshoot her computer problems. Glad I introduced it to her

If you are an $IREN bull highly recommend reading the release instead of just this Nvidia names a LOT of partners not just IREN
IREN is partnering with NVIDIA to accelerate deployment of large-scale AI factories by combining NVIDIA’s DSX AI factory architecture with IREN’s expertise across power, land, data centers, GPU deployment and infrastructure operations.
