Okay, let's have a conversation about this. Stochastic terrorists like this one here love to spread this around as fact. It's not. It's propaganda. Let's be clear: There is NO epidemic of "trans violence." We have an epidemic of gun violence. Posts like these are a deliberate attempt to shift blame for a nationwide crisis onto a minority that represents about 1% of the US population. Researchers looked at over 5,700 mass shootings since 2013 and were only able to identify FIVE that involved trans or nonbinary shooters. This list also includes thoroughly debunked claims about the "Trump Shooter", and even goes as far as to victim-blame the LGBTQ community for the Club Q terrorist's action. They literally ran a neo-nazi website and only said they were nonbinary after the fact. What they never seem to include in lists like this is that trans people are statistically 4 times more likely than c!s people to be the victims of a violent crime. If we were truly a threat to society, they wouldn't have to falsify statistics and twist narratives to make us look like one. Every time there is a mass shooting, this graphic gets spammed into the mentions of trans people online. Every. Single. Time. They would rather hijack the tragedy to push their anti-trans narrative than talk about real solutions like the need for mental health care access, the easy access to firearms, extremist ideologies, misogyny, racism, all of it. The real drivers of violence. They would rather build a moral panic than save lives. If you really cared about the violence, start with the facts, not fearmongering. If anyone made a list of Christian or white mass shooters to claim "white violence is the real threat," you'd immediately recognize it as bigotry. This is the same tactic, just aimed at trans people. Wake up, people.
