Good morning. TPS will be closed today - October 21, 2026, due to the hazardous materials situation in north Toledo. No students or staff should report. Families in that area under the shelter in place order are asked to continue following the updates from first responders.

Awarded for good behavior these Leverette 8th graders are grinning ear to ear. Teacher Mrs. Whitcomb made these prizes by hand, a crocheted wrist purse and bat. 👛🦇 Each quarter students earn raffle tickets for their good behavior. Outstanding work Leverette! #TPSProud 🟥🟦🟩🟨

Well you see, most of the time, levies are needed due to the fact that it’s local government’s STATUTORY OBLIGATION to fund those things that support their citizens quality of life. And the state is NOT being a good partner in this statutory work FOR THE PEOPLE. The ACTUAL problem is that the Supermajority of Republicans at the state level of government don’t believe in following their Constitutional duty for which they swear an Oath to serve. They’ve been shifting these taxes onto the local property owners for far too long. Want them to pay their fair share and FUND OUR POLICE, FIREFIGHTERS, roads and bridges, waste collection, water works, Public Education, etc.???? Then contact your lawmakers and demand they do: •Find your State Rep here: ohiohouse.gov •Find your State Senator here: ohiosenate.gov
Replying to @JessicaEMiranda
The problem is the appraisal and levy’s unfortunately. County needs to do a better job managing money, and voters need to really look into “why” a levy is needed

1.67M students use public school in Ohio. Follow OH’s Constitution or change it. It’s that simple. You can’t fund a secondary system with public money if you don’t adequately fund the primary system. My tax payers pay more bc the gov’t says so. Follow the law or change it.
140,000 students in Ohio use Ed Choice scholarships to attend non-public schools. 42,000 students couldn't otherwise afford private/parochial school without the Ed Choice scholarship. An Ohio appeals court just ruled the scholarships unconstitutional.

The messaging from Ohio’s supermajority of control 🤦🏻‍♀️ “A woman who has never held elected office is unfit because WE haven’t solved Ohio’s problems after DECADES of controlling state government.” Make it make sense. 🤔
Amy Acton has no plan for Ohio. Unhinged. Unfit. Unqualified.

More vouchers mean higher costs for Ohio communities. As voucher spending continues to grow, local taxpayers are left carrying more of the burden. #VouchersHurtOhio

Ohio taxpayers are being asked to pass levy after levy while billions continue flowing to private schools. Meanwhile, some public schools are being pushed to the point where they may have no choice but to shut their doors.

Ohio is spending billions on private school vouchers while public schools are cutting staff, eliminating programs, and even facing closure. Voucher costs keep growing while public school children pay the price.
