K‑Hole has had an update following the latest nuke this morning. There are now two Telegram groups: 🕳️ K‑Hole Shadow 3.2: the replacement community. Invites will be going out shortly. 🔬 K‑Hole Lab Chat: a standalone group for lab questions, COAs, testing and discussions with laboratories. No vendors, sales talk or promotions. Each lab has their own topic. Please respect the group rules and Telegram’s Terms of Service so we can keep Lab Chat alive. My new website is also launching soon.

Beeboo Off the Hook? Plot twist: Vanguard tested ten separate 5-Amino-1MQ samples, including an authenticated reference standard and one believed to be from the affected vendor. At high concentration, they all triggered presumptive positive fentanyl strips. When diluted according to the manufacturer’s instructions, they all tested negative. Targeted LC-MS/MS also returned nondetect across the fentanyl panel. We're still waiting for the national laboratory’s result on Janoshik’s sample, but for now, it looks like Beeboo’s brew may be clear, and Beeboo can sleep at night again. Article link below

Why Was Hydroxyacetophenone Added to Zero-Peptide Vials? One theory is that hydroxyacetophenone was deliberately added to make fake raw material produce a reading during basic UV testing. The substance is visible at both 214 and 280 nm. Absorbance around 214 nm is commonly used to detect peptide bonds, while 280 nm mainly reflects tryptophan and tyrosine. If an upstream facility performed only a quick UV-Vis check, the hydroxyacetophenone could produce absorbance and make a mixture of mannitol and no peptide appear as if something peptide-like were present. According to @Vanguard_Lab it would take around a minute, require no specialist solvents and cost next to nothing. This would not fool HPLC or mass spectrometry, and it would not confirm the identity of any peptide. It could only potentially fool someone using a basic UV reading as a shortcut instead of properly analysing the material. That could explain why the vials contained hydroxyacetophenone rather than mannitol alone. The chemical may have been included to help fake raw material pass a cheap upstream quality check before reaching the finisher. It remains a theory. But if correct, the zero-peptide vials were not simply empty, they may have been designed to pass the most basic test.

@Vanguard_Lab submitted evidence today on the reptides lab board describing their QA process, certificates, and what makes them capable of testing peptides. Based on the information we received, we would like to welcome our first A-tier lab to the reptides board.
