Bill Gates warns artificial intelligence is "powerful enough" to cause "a billion deaths" if left unchecked, calling it "completely irresponsible" not to require safeguards on every AI system.
The Microsoft co-founder told NBC's Meet the Press that the combination of people with ill intent and the latest AI tools amounts to the most powerful weapon ever created — and pushed back on the Trump administration's approach of treating AI purely as a global competition with China rather than an existential safety concern.
The warning drew sharp reactions on both sides. RNC member Amy Kremer said "the only people still denying the reality of the situation are those being paid by Big AI to gaslight the American people," while investment CEO Nancy Tengler fired back that Gates' framing ignores the need to win the AI race the same way the U.S. won the Cold War arms race.

🚨3 arrested in Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres & Naples as part of a statewide voter fraud operation.
Florida AG James Uthmeier and Gov. Ron DeSantis announced 20 people charged with illegally voting in Florida elections, including the 2024 General Election.
The three from the Gulf Coast are accused of falsely claiming U.S. citizenship when they registered, then voting in person:
• Astrid Shamatu Navarrete Quintana, 24, Fort Myers — Mexican national, lawful permanent resident
• Kadian Gabrielle Amai Johnson, 29, Lehigh Acres — Jamaican national, lawful permanent resident
• Manon M. Raux, 62, Naples — Canadian national, lawful permanent resident
All three later signed forms acknowledging they are not U.S. citizens. They face charges of unqualified noncitizen electors willfully voting and false swearing.

The problem is deeper than anyone realizes.
Each position is entirely funded by the American taxpayer, through the center for Medicare and Medicaid.
Nearly 2,000 American medical students could not get a residency.
Do you know of any other country in the world that allows foreigners to be hired over their own citizens for taxpayer paid jobs?
Look at this chart.
These are American residency programs.
Red = foreign resident doctors.
Grey = Americans.
Some hospitals are almost 100% foreign. A lot of these doctors came in on visas. Some have been tied to fake credentials and USMLE cheating scandals.
I pay the premiums. I wait months to be seen. Taxpayer-funded Medicare GME money(over $21 billion a year) is training these foreign doctors instead of Americans.
And I DO NOT even trust these doctors !
Why should we keep funding this?

I am the only girl in my family among 8 male siblings.
Since I was 11 years old, I have been physically assaulted when I left the house without a black abaya and niqab. The first time happened when I got into the car with my brother. Without warning, he grabbed my ear and pulled it hard while demanding to know where my face covering was.
My mother was watching the scene with a smile, telling me that I had to cover my face.
My mother wears the niqab even inside our home and never takes it off. My father and brothers have never seen her face. She even keeps her face covered while sleeping. Because of this, she sees me as immoral and shameless because I do not wear the niqab inside the house.
I am now 22 years old, and I have a 14-year-old brother who tells me that if I ever think about taking off the niqab, he will cut me into pieces and hang the different parts of my body from the ceiling of our house — my legs, arms, head, stomach, and chest.
He repeats these threats whenever we are outside and see a girl who is not wearing a niqab or head covering.
This is what living with the niqab has been like for me. It is not simply a piece of clothing that I can freely choose to wear or remove. For me, it has been associated with fear, physical violence, threats, and being treated as immoral for wanting to make my own choice about my body and face.”

Min fru som är thailändsk medborgare har nu bott i Sverige i sex år. Hon har aldrig tagit emot en krona i bidrag. Hon har gått på SFI och lärt sig svenska och även lyckats ta svenskt körkort. Samtidigt som hon gjort allt detta har hon jobbat långa dagar och kvällar i köket på en restaurang för att försörja sig själv. När hon nyligen ansökte om ett permanent uppehållstillstånd (alltså inte ens medborgarskap) nekades hon. Migrationsverket hade gått igenom ekonomin för restaurangen där hon var anställd och ansåg inte att den var tillräckligt god. Det var tydligen skäl nog.
Nu läser jag om vår nye riksdagsman Muhammed Ali. Fick skuldsanering 2022. Varit konstant arbetslös. Har rest ett flertal gånger till hemlandet samtidigt som han fick försörjningsstöd. Vägrat betala underhållsstöd samt har ett flertal andra skulder hos kronofogden. Hans fru har begärt kontakt förbud tre gånger efter att hon säger sig ha blivit misshandlad. Anklagad även för grovt barnfridsbrott. Har bott tillsammans med gängkriminell. Beviljades MEDBORGARSKAP i februari.
