I'm very sad to read this. The Kreft family looked after me when I first moved to Australia as a child, I often think of and miss his amazing mum, whom I called Babcia, and Edmund who gave me many pairs of football boots growing up, and taught me to play pool in his family home.

Beautiful tribute from @ASRomaEN and @acmilan for their upcoming game at @OptusStadium in Perth on May 31.
The two 🇮🇹 @SerieA Clubs will mark 30 years since the tragic passing of legendary player Agostino Di Bartolomei
Di Bartolomei is considered of the greatest Italian players never to wear the famous @Azzurri_En shirt.
Both teams will run out with this commemorative patch attached onto their famous shirts.

Good to know @SpursOfficial are likely to tour Australia in June. I’m now hearing that a bigger and more famous European club team will play here in post-season.

Very sad to hear Rocco Di Zio has passed away today.
Rocco was a leading journo for @ilglobonews and La Fiamma in the Italian community of Australia. Rocco loved football and was a key supporter and committee man for Brunswick Juventus over many decades.
Rocco sacrificed a lot of his personal time and resources for many new arrivals from Italy to help them get settled and for the football community at large.
A crowning moment was when he received his award in the Australia Day honours a few years ago.
A true legend and great friend to so many.
I started my life in football administration assisting Rocco back many moons ago at Brunswick Juventus and without knowing it then, Rocco became my mentor.
Lots of love Rocco and Rest In Peace my dear friend.

I was that kid who went to sleep with a ball in my bed dreaming of moments like this.
I questioned & doubted myself so many times over the past 4 years if this would ever happen but I had an incredible team around me to drive & support me to this point. – at Melbourne, Victoria
