A soft shrug as he folds his arms neatly.
“Indeed… I have my own studies to attend to which will require me to get up close to any demon I’m not as familiar with.”
He adds, it’s not often he isn’t knowledgeable about demonkind, however more and more unknown ones show up
“I see… you carry yourself with such caution.”
He observes, her closed stature, tensed shoulders and fidgeting hands
Funny enough, her request reminded him even more of the Patty Lowell that Dante described
“Very well, we’re no strangers to such work, that could be arranged.”
He paused for a moment. It was far from a straightforward thing to describe, along with his usual cryptic remarks.
The words linger on his tongue before he finally speaks
“To put simply… nightmares
amalgamations of such torments…”
“I’ll manage… You don’t need to do such a thing if it holds you back.”
A soft sigh. Still slightly on edge though her seemingly genuine kindness is a relief
“You’re not the only one trying to deny their nature…
Strange… I had wondered why there seemed to be so little work around here…”
“Have you known how it feels to carry what torments you so close to yourself?
Perhaps so far that it is the reason you’ve come to this point.”
A rather cryptic but revealing question about his nature…
“I suppose we have that in common… You still carry that invisible weight so close to you…”
He reads, not that it was far off from himself in the slightest

V knew whether or not he was downplaying the situation. Dante’s eyes didn’t carry a hidden distrust or resentment this time.
“I see… have you gotten adequate sleep lately? Rather, in a place other than your beloved office chair?”

Was he staring? Shit. Had to be more careful about how he spaced off.
'Nah, it's nothin'."
He does his best to play it off.
"The ol' brain is just wandering. You know how it is."
A soft chuckle, shaking his head.
“Oh no, he is an… associate but, yes. He is the owner of this place. Do you have a job for him or myself?”
“They bear an unimaginable, haunting burden… I consider myself fortunate that I can harness it enough.”
His hand clenched as he looked along the spiraling ink on his arms.
He paused for a moment, eyes shifting to a slight surprise only to return to his usual resting expression.
He mouthes the name, only to slightly slump, leaning on his cane.
“Strange, you look as he described… In any case, you may call me V.”
He adds, bowing his head.
