If there is one thing we should all learn from what is happening in #Ukraine️ it is to appreciate the things we do have and never to take peace in our land for granted 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
I can’t really stomach using a platform owned by someone who’s ethos I detest.
I’ll be here very rarely now.
Please keep in touch.

And a ‘fair playing field’ is not asking farmers to run 2/3 other jobs/businesses to make ends meet when they already have an incredibly demanding job.
Given that the Treasury has been adamant that so few farmers are going to be affected and it will raise so little money , lowering waiting lists, cutting interest rates and mortgages must be a piece of cake 🙄

Keir Starmer abandoned his visit to Buckinghamshire to promote housing plans due to a farmers protest. He has now disingenuously doubled down on the inheritance tax on family farms.
“Would people prefer NHS waiting lists to come down, lower interest rates, mortgages to come down OR tax breaks for farmers? We know what they would prefer. It’s a choice.”

🏴First up is Irwel Jones who farms Aberbranddu, nestled in the Cothi Valley. Irwel and his family have initiated various projects on their farm over several years – focusing on elements such as grassland management and animal health.

Interesting Fact, one reason the Horse Chestnut (conker tree) was so named, is because of the Horseshoe shaped scar (complete with 7 nails) that sits below every new 'sticky bud' of the season. The scar is where last years leaves were formed.😍
Our small scale venison enterprise Cig Carw Llyn has been nominated for the Countryside Alliance Rural Oscars in the Food and Drink Category.
I’d be really grateful if you could take a moment to show your support by voting for us 😁 Link below

This is so frustrating and disingenuous.
Expecting farming families to be without profit from producing food.
But that’s ok.. just keep them sweet and point them towards the holiday lets.
Utter bs.
Replying to @cvfarming
_"For all farm businesses...... to stay viable in an increasingly uncertain world, and make sure you can keep producing the food we need, you must be able to profit from other activities."__
Diversification must be about additional income & growth, not subsidising food.

Asking farmers to diversify to subsidise food production, is
1) tone deaf, most of us did years ago
2) an admission that you’ve allowed a broken system to emerge
And
3) an admission that you haven’t the courage or vision to fix any of the real issues

Children's author Mem Fox said, "A picture book should change your emotional temperature." What's a picture book that did that for you? One of mine is Where The Wild Things Are, especially the final lines "And it was still hot."
Proud to say Cig Carw Llyn are Welsh finalists in the "Local Food / Drink" category of the Countryside Alliance Awards, or the "Rural Oscars".
The winner will be determined by a public vote, so we'll be posting details about that in due course, and canvassing for your support.
