VPython makes it easy to create navigable 3D displays and animations, even for those with limited programming experience.

Great update by @veritasium to his original (excellent) video on energy transmission in a circuit. The shout-out to M&I is quite appreciated (@VPython_Code, @aaronptitus). Definitely watch his if you teach circuits #ITeachPhysics youtu.be/oI_X2cMHNe0

From Sherwood: When you click "Share or export this program" you now should see a link to download an HTML file containing your transpiled JavaScript program, which can be loaded into a browser and the program should run.

BIG NEWS: Effective immediately, GlowScript will be referred to as Web VPython. This is to avoid confusion with other languages named “GlowScript.” Please make appropriate updates! webvpython.org should now work.
Replying to @VPython_Code
@VPython_Code is really great. One minute you're wondering what it's like to play baseball in the artificial gravity of an O'Neill cylinder. A few minutes later, you have a simulation of projectile motion with Coriolis and centrifugal forces with plots and everything.
By popular demand, arrows with round cross sections are now available! See Help. “round: By default, round is False and the arrow has a square cross-section. If round is True, it has a circular cross-section. The round attribute cannot be changed after creating the arrow. “

Is anyone using @GlowScript_Code or @VPython_Code in the AP Physics space?
UPDATE: I’ve found that scrolling in iOS works in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Brave when the mobile site is rendered, but not the desktop site. Syntax coloring only seems to work with the desktop site, not with the mobile site. We’ll investigate whether or not this is fixable.
#GlowScript 3.0 has been released. Example programs are being/have been updated.

Do you use #GlowScript on an iOS device? Does the editor work properly for you? I can only get scrolling to work in Chrome for iOS. It doesn’t work in Safari, Firefox, or Brave. Can you recommend a replacement for the ACE editor that works in iOS?

It’s been a decade since AAPT recommended “that every physics & astronomy department provide its majors... instruction in computational physics.” In this webinar we’ll explore why physicists need comp skills & why faculty need to integrate computation into their undergrad courses
It also doesn’t work on python 3.8 yet. Help with github.com/vpython/vpython-j… would be much appreciated 😀
With VPython 7.6.1, the following script will open a window WITHOUT a browser: from vpython import * set_browser(type=‘pyqt’) box() Your default browser settings aren’t disturbed. This doesn’t yet work on Windows.
If you saved that script to, say, testing.py then simply typing python testing.py at a command line will execute the script in its own window. Closing that window terminates the script.
