Last Friday evening, VPG reached a tentative agreement with Santa Clara County on a new contract. The tentative agreement will be presented for a vote of approval to the County Board of Supervisors and VPG’s membership. nbcbayarea.com/news/local/so…

I’m concerned about a physicians strike at Santa Clara County’s hospitals and health clinics. Top quality patient care standards and physician well being are not at odds. We can prioritize both.

I will work with the @SCCgov and @VPGphysicians on reforms so our most vulnerable patients get high quality care from physicians who are supported and respected.

What's holding back quality patient care in Santa Clara? 🥼 Short staffing ⌛ Unsafe workloads 🚧 Systemic barriers It's time for @SCCGov to prioritize lifelines over their bottom lines and listen to physicians. #VPGStrong

Thank you @Evan_Low for standing up for patient care and Santa Clara County's dedicated physicians.
Patient care AND physician wellness in our county are both critical issues to be addressed. I have full confidence that our county board of supervisors will do all that they can to avert a strike and demonstrate that health care workers are truly valued. sanjosespotlight.com/times-u…

We agree with @SupEllenberg and already did what she recommended in this @SJSpotlight story by submitting a clear written proposal aimed at resolving critical working condition issues that are harming patient care. We are still waiting for a written proposal from @SCCgov....

A huge crowd of @VPGphysicians doctors is rallying in front of VMC to announce a strike notice coming early Nov. This comes after roughly two years of stalled negotiation. The doctors have been working without a contract for more than 18 months. Story TK @SJSpotlight

Share your concerns. We're so grateful to our healthcare professionals for getting us through COVID. Time to show it with better work conditions and fair treatment.

I am concerned about the working conditions in the SCC Health & Hosp System. Short-staffing and heavy patient loads are bad for patients and bad for doctors. After 2 years working through the pandemic w/o a contract, I hope that @VPGphysicians’ concerns are addressed.
