You wanted Trump to be President and undermined Ukraine.
Own it.
It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel.
If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.

This recent West Point graduate is Alex Idrache. He grew up in a slum in Haiti, and he tells the story of how U.S. soldiers were deployed to his neighborhood following the earthquake there several years ago. He says their presence was the first experience of "hope" he recalls in his childhood.
He remembers looking at his dad and asking him who the people were that were helping. His dad looked at him and said, "They are American soldiers." He looked back at his father and said, "One day, I will be an American soldier." His father knew the situation in Haiti was unworkable and tried for several years to obtain a visa to come to the United States. After being denied for several years, he was finally granted a spot in Baltimore. He purchased a ticket on a boat for his family and left Haiti. They arrived and Alex, remembering his dream in the slum several years prior, looked for a way to join the U.S. Army. He found a national guard program that allowed him to join the Army in exchange for citizenship. He didn't hesitate.
After a series of fortunate occurrences, he was given one of the few spots at West Point for prior enlisted soldiers. Despite his severe lack of formal education, he graduated as an honor graduate (top 5% physically and academically) and the top student in the Physics Department. This picture was taken just prior to tossing his hat in the air, the realization of a dream that began 10 years ago in a slum in Port-au-Prince

When you see something good in someone..you notice it.
When you see kindness.. integrity.. strong leadership.. and a genuine work ethic..you can’t help but respect it.
And when you see someone who brings all of those qualities together .. someone who is truly special ...you know they have something valuable to offer beyond their own country.
That’s what I see in you @Keir_Starmer.
The world needs people like you on the international stage.

A slightly painful reminder of why the NHS matters
I ended up in A&E at the Whittington for much more of my Thursday night than I planned after dislocating my thumb playing football. There was a long wait, an X-ray and eventually someone popping it back into place.
Having time to sit there and think, once I was past my initial frustration of waiting, was a reminder of why, despite the challenges it faces, we should still feel incredibly proud of the NHS. You walk in because something has gone wrong and people are there to help you. Doctors, nurses and staff working through the night and dealing with people with far more patience than I fear I have!
We hear a lot about what is wrong with the NHS. That means we risk forgetting how extraordinary the basic idea still is and how incredible the people who keep it going are. When you need medical help, it is there for you, regardless of what you earn. That is something pretty amazing and worth protecting, improving and being proud of.
A massive thank you to everyone at the Whittington who looked after me last night. P.S. I’ll spare you the photo. Nobody needs that.
