Is POGO perfect for describing glottic view? No. So why use it in #VCIscore?
If CL is used for VL with a Mac blade, how do we know that the CL grade doesn’t refer to the DL view? Additional annotation would be necessary to make this clear to anyone reviewing the record.
In summary, we think it best to use distinct language for describing glottic view when using DL vs VL.
Cormack- Lehane for DL
#VCIscore for VL
Tomorrow… we will share why we picked POGO (0/25/50/75/100%) at tube delivery for describing glottic view… we know some ppl feel strongly about this! 😉

Take-home: Use of #VCI provides a simple method to improve reporting, communication + future airway management practices… a pragmatic, device-independent way to standardise videolaryngoscopy reporting. 7/8
