As ASU students return to Tempe for the fall semester, we’re helping spread the word about a new step Tempe is taking for nightlife safety.
Councilmembers Randy Keating and Bobby Nichols joined City staff on Mill Avenue Saturday night to hand out free drink spiking test kits and talk with people heading out for the evening.
Under Tempe’s new drink spiking prevention ordinance, most bars and restaurants that serve alcohol late into the night are now required to have drink spike detection kits available for customers.
If something feels off about your drink, stop drinking it. Tell a bartender or staff member and ask for a test kit. Stay with your friends and only leave with someone you trust. If someone is experiencing an emergency, call 911.
