AI can name a condition. Deciding what to do next, and answering for it, still takes a clinician.

Excited to present preliminary findings from the phase 2b FORTIFY trial at #ESC2026.
Despite well-controlled CV risk factors, low hsCRP & excellent secondary prevention after a prior type 1 MI (median 2.6 years prior to enrollment), coronary inflammation remains strikingly prevalent: 63% had ≥1 artery with elevated FAI (>50th %tile) and 24% had 2 arteries >50th percentile in the screened population.

Excellent work @WaqasHaiderMD @JCVPOnline - a practical statement, ready to use - I enjoyed work with you and the others pericarditis docs @UVACVRC @UvaDOM
Grateful to share our expert opinion in Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology.
This one was a true labor of love because it came directly from the questions we hear so often from patients with recurrent pericarditis: “What does life look like on IL-1 blockade?”
How worried should I be about infection? Vaccines? Work? Travel? Masking? Daily life?
Our message: for most patients, IL-1 blockade should mean thoughtful precautions and a return to normalcy, not unnecessary restriction.
Proud to have worked on this with an outstanding multidisciplinary group.

Coronary plaque in younger women may carry a far greater prognostic signal than equivalent plaque in men.
In our editorial in the Am Journal of Preventive Cardiology (doi.org/10.1016/j.ajpc.2026.…), we discuss why sex-specific interpretation of CCTA findings is essential—and why even “mild” plaque in women should prompt aggressive prevention efforts.
