Today, the Utthan team was in Valiya block, Bharuch district, Gujarat, celebrating Global Handwashing Day. Celebrated on October 15th this day is an advocacy effort towards promoting handwashing as one of the simplest and affordable ways to prevent disease & save lives.

Through our ₹25,000 Revolving SEED Fund, women accessloans directly through their SHGs. As each woman repays her loan, the money flows back into the collective pot—revolving to launch the next enterprise. 3,451 women across 300 SHGs are show us what entrepreneurship looks like

No degrees. No bank collateral. Just pure grit. Under the National SEED Scheme (Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment), Utthan works with historically marginalized DNT communities across rural Gujarat to break barriers to financial independence.

Our goal by 2030: Scale our model to 20,000 farmers—ensuring growth is anchored in learning, ownership, and resilience. Here’s to more women transitioning to sustainable farming, diversifying incomes, claiming their agency & redefining leadership in agriculture

Building on 40+ years of work, Utthan’s Vision for Women-led, Climate-Resilient Sustainable Agriculture is expanded from 5,000 to 9,500 women since 2023. With the right support, we have build: • Confidence to experiment • Skills to adapt • Knowledge to plan • Voice to lead
