An unexpected source drove the push to put electric school buses on the road in Vernal, Utah: local oil producers. In 2022, @UtahPetroleum President Rikki Hrenko-Browning wrote to the Uintah School District, encouraging “any efforts made by the local area to reduce emissions that impact our air quality, and particularly those that lead to our winter ozone challenges, such as diesel emissions.” The district later added 10 electric buses, which avoided an estimated 15,795 gallons of diesel in their first school year, as well as about 160 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions. thebusinessdownload.com/how-…

Let’s be clear. Banning the export of U.S. crude oil or American-made diesel, gasoline and refined products would be a costly and counterproductive mistake. It would mean less U.S. fuel production, tighter supplies, greater energy security risks and higher prices.
