As a fursuit maker, I am concerned with the culture surrounding defending makers with queues owing thousands of dollars to customers & digging themselves into holes surrounded by people defending the practices. The fact a maker can owe $180,000 in 3 year past due suits is shocking to me. Having 90 people on your fursuit queue is concerning, especially being 3 years behind and requesting time to work on personal suits & raffles. The queue would suggest that it would take 10 years to finish the current queue assuming no more delays at the current pace. Deadlines are pushed, suits are made out of order. Customers can often feel terrified to be the only one speaking out. With a customer being blacklisted for wanting s refund after 2 years of waiting. What customer would want to say “no I am not happy with you doing personal projects” no one wants to feel selfish, especially in a group of 90 others? I recognize life happens, its happened to me, between covid, and the last few years horribly traumatic things can happen, but falling behind by +3 years only to focus on premades, merch drops, new pin clubs, plushies, personal projects, and becoming convention chair, with no ability to refund people is concerning and deserves self reflection sooner than echo chambers of dismissal. On my previous post several other makers were named with similar sized queues, and customers felt all but defeated that they were far beyond the point of a full refund, but might as well keep waiting. No customer should feel depressed in that way.
