The enormous challenges we face as a nation: the climate crisis, shrinking middle class, skyrocketing housing & health care costs, and more are a stark call to action. The old ways aren’t working and we can’t waste any more time tinkering around the edges. nyti.ms/2XwUZVp

Congrats to @jackie4LAUSD on her return to #LAUSD school board. The public ed system that underpins our democracy needs knowledge, leadership, & collaboration. Looking forward to working with her on our shared goal of public schools that are inspiring places to teach and learn.
Thinking back to meeting this former president when we were both a little younger. Happy birthday, Jimmy Carter.
Happy birthday to @TheBroad and thank you to everyone who has stopped by to take in the art, chat with a Visitors Service Associate, and enjoy time with friends and family. #BroadTurns3
Edye and I were humbled to be honored by the Kennedy Center this weekend. We used the opportunity to tell the audience that we thought funding for @NEAarts should be doubled. broadfoundation.org/eli-and-…
50 years ago I was in San Francisco campaigning with Alan Cranston. We were walking down the street when we heard Martin Luther King had been killed. In 1969, as a US senator, Alan sponsored a bill to make Dr. King's birthday a national holiday. It finally passed in 1983. #MLK50

It has been five years since the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary. Sadly, our country still has much work to do to pass common sense gun laws.
As a lifelong Democrat, I'm proud to have made the maximum contribution to #DougJonesForSenate. Like so many people across our country, I'm rooting for him today.

As a child of immigrants, I stand with Dreamers. Forcing them out of their homes and dividing families goes against American values. Congress needs to act. #DreamActNow
