Another week, another nuke plant crashes. This one crashed on the way to shutting down for another months-long refueling outage. Notable because emergency diesel generators crankjng up means sonething seriously amiss.
On Friday the Waterford-3 #nuclear reactor in #Louisiana automatically scrammed at 75 percent power after the turbine tripped as the reactor was being prepared for a refueling outage. An emergency diesel generator was actuated.

The 'Palisades Incident' has been shrouded in secrecy. Holtec did not publicly disclose the mishap for several weeks. It issued a media announcement about reaching the fuel loading milestone that did not mention the tipped assembly. #nonukes share.google/UqZpMKXPX5SwpFd… – at Hague, FL
The people understand weakening radiation standards is societal suicide.
The @NRCgov has released a compilation of public comments on its proposed rule to weaken radiation protection standards for the public, workers, and the environment. It's only 12,945 pages long. Happy weekend reading everybody! nrc.gov/docs/ML2625/ML26251A…
X’s algorithm is crushing us, only showing our anti-nuclear posts to a few people, so consider yourself lucky. But, since the Russian bots were destroyed, we’ve seen a sharp drop off in pro-nuclear trolls attacking our posts. Ironically, fewer reactions might mean less views.
Another week, another US nuke plant crashes. This one apparently taken out by a hurricane. While the loss of this plant is definitely contributing to the 13 state electricity emergency. It’s important to note 10% of the nuclear fleet is down right now.
Could be a factor in Palisades’ fuel assembly toppling over. As far as we know, it’s still laying there on the bottom of the reactor pool.
I was traveling yesterday and missed this one. The problems are really piling up for @holtecintl at the Palisades #nuclear plant and even @NRCgov can't turn a blind eye anymore. nrc.gov/about-nrc/news-relea…

Carney's gov't wants to declare the DGR, a burial and abandonment project for all of Canada's high level nuclear fuel waste, a “Project of National Interest”.
Why bother with pesky impact assessments of health and safety?

The nuclear industry is built on corruption. Days after “negotiating” a deal that will see tens of billions of taxpayer pounds flood into the company building Sizewell C, Austin started getting her share in a nice fat paycheck.
Nuclear's revolving doors exposed by @PrivateEyeNews "...Austin is now working for the company she was previously negotiating with as a civil servant. Those negotiations went rather well for Sizewell C's private shareholders...the taxpayer who will pick up the bill if costs grow"

The NRC posted this glowing propaganda AFTER Holtec’s highly radioactive fuel assembly fell over and crashed to the bottom of the fuel pool. Lying through their teeth. If this picture really is Palisades and not AI it must have been taken moments before the disaster.
The Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant continues towards its inevitable meltdown. If the spent fuel pools meltdown, it will contaminate the continent. The @iaeaorg knows the only sane action is to defuel the reactor and remove the spent fuel. Instead, they keep saying, “Play nice!”
The IAEA has been informed of a series of drone attacks in recent weeks that further threatened nuclear safety and security at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP).
The reported attacks included strikes on 19, 20 and 27 September on the nearby Zaporizhzhya Thermal Power Plant (ZTPP), damaging transformers that are of vital importance for supplying off-site power to the ZNPP, which has experienced frequent external power outages during the conflict.
To enable necessary repairs at the ZTPP, IAEA DG @rafaelmgrossi is negotiating a new localized ceasefire with both sides with the aim for it to take effect very soon. It would be the eighth such IAEA-brokered ceasefire to help secure off-site power for the ZNPP.
In addition, an attack on 22 September reportedly disabled an off-site radiation monitoring station, reducing the capability to monitor radiation levels near the ZNPP.
Other attacks hit buildings in the city of Enerhodar, where many ZNPP staff live. One person was reportedly killed.
DG Grossi says attacks endangering nuclear safety and security remain completely unacceptable and must cease immediately. In order to prevent the risk of a nuclear accident during the conflict, all sides must exercise maximum military restraint near such facilities and their power infrastructure installations, DG Grossi says.
Beer bottles, pole dancers, worker falling into the reactor pool, years late, billions over budget, and now a fuel assembly reported fallen over and laying on its side at the bottom of the reactor. The Pallisades restart is a huge boondoggle!! @NRC @NucSafetyUCS @holtecintl
Solar beats nukes! Solar alone has surpassed nuclear power. Add wind and batteries, and nukes are being crushed. This is not because of red tape or government over regulation. It’s because nukes suck in every way. pv-magazine.com/2026/09/29/s…
