Growth is a beautiful thing. The tension between creating for oneself and creating for others is a journey every artist wrestles with. Your honesty here is refreshing.

1/ Listening to Brymo’s album, and one line caught me off guard: “Okunkun lati wa, Okunkun lahun lo”—we came from darkness, and perhaps we return to darkness. Life is a journey with an unclear destination. I don’t know where we come from, but I suspects that’s where we’re headed

6/ Could it even be selfish? Giving life just to fulfill our own desires for family, tradition, or legacy?

7/ And if we never existed, would we have escaped these dilemmas entirely? Would we be freer, untethered from the question of heaven, hell, or nothingness?

The video of ÌPÍN, my prayer room is now available on my YouTube channel: 👇👇 youtu.be/-Tz0KH6Kauc?si=57Hr… The part I feel safe for now to share, brought to my kind, whose soul is seeking, sometimes weary, but determined... Available on my YouTube channel: youtu.be/-Tz0KH6Kauc?si=57Hr… The strength streamed onto me, extended to my kind, that it might help, no matter how "in a little way"... The comfort with which I'm always being comforted, spread to my kind, becoming as a balm, hope to the "seeking for better" one, as me... Audio link here: lnk.fuga.com/SolaAllysonIPIN The bruised, the battered, the broken, as me, but who strangely finds himself/herself standing tall still. Who refuses to be crushed, adamant and determined to become whole... The light which refuses to be dimmed by darkness which fights to dim it, as me... Fighting on, as a warrior who is becoming a conqueror but for which it is hard...! The pure souls who do not concede to becoming what their war pain should make them be... ÌPÍN is for us all! The soul which strives to be unsoiled even as all seems to work at soiling that soul... That step upon step, precept upon precept, as you got here, you will get "there", further, farther, till you won't look like this present you again and you'll be beauty all over! ÌPÍN is for us all! That help is available sẹ́! That "that" your ìmọ́lẹ̀ is àìlèkú! That ọmọ ìmọ́lẹ̀ must stay in the place of ìmọ́lẹ̀ in all! That ÌMỌ́LẸ̀ Will not cease to tàn for ọmọ ìmọ́lẹ̀! That help is somewhere along the way! That the bend you're navigating right now leads to a smooth and well structured highway of purposeful destiny! That pé, #Yóòdáa! ♥️

Love is love. Commitment is commitment. Commitment is a quality. Love is a sensation. We don’t need to conflate both terms. Unfortunately, marriage is a self-imposed obligation. You don’t need a “different” kind of love in marriage. You just need more qualities—commitment, etc.

It’s hard to define love, my friend. We argue a lot about what it means, because there’s no way for all of us to know if we’re all feeling it the same way. There is no way to know, for instance, if the love I felt for Susan is how you felt it for Adanna. We both say “we were in love” but there’s no way to know HOW much we each felt it. One person may say love is just a choice. That person probably just woke up one day, looked at a list of potential lovers and picked the one who seemed to be most interested in him or her. To that person, love is a choice. All he or she had to do was to stick with the original decision. I don’t advise it, obviously, because somewhere down the line, without a much deeper affectionate connection, it’s hard to be committed. To any thing, really. Be it a job, romance or anything really. Another person may say love is a very strong feeling that makes you want to serve the interest of another. This person probably never expected that he or she would become so engrossed in someone the way they eventually became. To this person, defining love as just a choice, is bizarre. Because somehow they keep feeling like they had no choice in the matter—they probably even actively tried to let it go but they couldn’t. So you see, my friend, it is precisely difficult to agree on a definition because words have no meanings, we humans do. Words are like tags. We used them to identify something but the words themselves do not always convey how we each understand what is going on. For me, and based on how I have felt it for different lovers in my life, love is a perpetual warmth; an eternal fondness in a person. It ensues from a remarkably delicate connection—an ability for the person to take you places where no one else seems able to take you. The eventual decision to be with them is both a choice and not at the same time. For people like me, love is not just a choice. A choice is a choice. The actual love itself is an inexplicable chemical reaction in the brain that reveals itself primarily in the form of good intention, fondness and devotion towards the cause of another. To quote Fyodor Dostoyevsky—to love someone is to see them exactly as God intended them.

these are all gorgeous garments. some missed the point but ultimately these are Victorian-era garments and Bridgeton is based on the Regency era where there were more lightweight flowy fabrics, and empire waistlines. everyone missed the point

For us it was "have you the temerity, the audacity, the effrontery and the impudence to insult a senior student?". From "the college days of John Ojo" by SMO Aka
I remember reading Ola Rotimi's "The gods are not to blame" (my mum's copy) in primary 5. When I saw the insult "you tortoise, you coward, you conniving slippery maggot", guess who showed up in school the next day, with new insults in her armory? And that was Primary 5.
