Okay, so the actual plan is for Part 1 to be a trilogy.
The idea is to follow the Harry Potter model and make it 7β8 films overall, with 4 or 5 films dedicated to Part 2 (Shippuden).
If you're making a live-action Naruto adaptation it should be a TV series. OR if you want to make it a movie, you need to make changes to speed up the plot. A faithful film adaptation would require more than 10 movies, and unless you can release them annually, it would take more than 20 years to cover the entire story. By then, the main trio would be in their mid-to-late 30s instead of 17 like in the Manga/Anime.
