In December 2025, leaders of more than a dozen Bitcoin circular economies across Africa sat in one room for the first time. Each had taken the model @Bitcoinbeach started in El Zonte, El Salvador, and adapted it to their own community. Bitcoin Beach's report names 15 projects from nine countries, including Bitcoin Ekasi (@BitcoinEkasi) in a Mossel Bay township, Afribit Kibera (@afribitkibera) in Nairobi and BTC Shule (@btcshule) in a village in Burundi. They met in Mauritius because visa, travel and financial barriers keep many African builders out of global Bitcoin events. @zackdorseyx filmed it. The clips are coming out now, including @thecoachayobami of @BitKwaofficial and @BrindonMwiine of @BitcoinKampala. Next stop: the Global Bitcoin Circular Economies Summit in El Zonte, November 19 and 20, open to the public for the first time. Check the first comment to read the full story. 👇

A wrapped car is driving from Lagos to Dakar, stopping at markets to set people up on Bitcoin. That's Sats On The Road, run by @BitKwaofficial. At every stop the crew installs non-custodial wallets, onboards merchants to Lightning, and trains a local educator to keep it going after the car leaves. Phase 1 is done: 3,000 km through Benin, Togo, and Burkina Faso, 20+ merchants on Lightning, 22 educators trained. In Cotonou they set up a wallet for Aïcha, a fabric seller, on a five-year-old Android and paid her in sats for two metres of wax print. Her words: "It's the first money I own without a bank's permission." Full story in the comments 👇

Replying to @bitlancework
@bitlancework now has client reviews. Every review is tied to a completed, paid contract, so you can see what a freelancer delivered and what it paid in sats before you hire them.
Client reviews are now live on Bitlance ⭐ After every completed contract, clients can rate freelancers out of 5 and leave a written review. It shows on the freelancer's profile, tied to the real job and what it paid in sats. How it works: - Hiring: See how freelancers did on real contracts before you message them. - Freelancing: Your next finished job is your first review. bitlance.work/blog/article/c…

In my latest for @btcafricastory, I cover the @afribitcoiners 2026 awards and how to nominate people, projects, products, communities, media and mining operations across 7 categories. Impact matters, not votes. Nominate by 31 Oct 👇
Last year, 21 Bitcoiners from 11 African countries made the Most Impactful African Bitcoiners list, from Btrust CEO Abubakar Nur Khalil (@ihate1999) to the teams behind MoneyBadger (@MoneyBadgerPay) and Gridless (@GridlessCompute). The annual awards by @afribitcoiners spotlight people building Bitcoin across Africa, chosen on impact, not votes. Nominations for 2026 close 31 Oct. Most of the Bitcoin-in-Africa conversation is Anglophone. At Bitcoin Mastermind we were blown away by how quietly Francophone Africa is building its own revolution. Bitcoin Mastermind (@btcmastermind_) ran its sixth edition in Cotonou, Benin. Three days, one rule: Bitcoin only, no altcoins. A dev day, adoption panels, a hackathon final, and the Benin culture experience. Founded by @Loicbtc and @mehounme, two of the earliest Bitcoin builders in the country. Same team behind @btcflashxyz, a gateway that lets anyone accept and use Bitcoin, and @BitcoinBenin, the community that runs it. Here's what stuck with me. In a region tied to the CFA franc, Bitcoin isn't a bet. It's a savings tool, a remittance rail, a way to build without waiting on Paris or Brussels to sign off. Shoutout to the communities present at Bitcoin Mastermind 2026. It was amazing to connect with y'all: @HopeWithBTC, @Bitcoin_Burkina, @BitcoinAnambra, @Togo_Bitcoin, Satoshi Coffee, @btcafriquefr, @citrusrate, @KidsBitcoin, and builders like @BouhariMou2199 and many others. Francophone Africa is building its own Bitcoin infrastructure.

📢 This is not a call for no rules ❗️❗️ It is a call for Bitcoin and crypto to be treated like any other payment rail. Support better policy before 30 Sept: catastrophe.co.za
📢 CATASTROPHE‼️ Draft regulations in South Africa would prohibit businesses from using Bitcoin and crypto for cross-border payments and restrict what you can do with your personal (self-custodial) wallet. Support better policy: Sign now! catastrophe.co.za 1) LEARN how the draft regulations would affect you 2) SIGN to support better policy - businesses can add their logos 3) REPOST to spread the word before public comments close on 30 September 2026 This is critical for progress, jobs, and economic growth in South Africa. #bitcoin #cryptoregulation #policy #southafricanews

When a woman is given the freedom to own, build, and lead, she doesn’t just rewrite her story, she breaks barriers for every woman coming after her. Big respect to Bitcoin Africa Story for creating the platform that brought this powerful conversation to life.
You can invite women into the room without giving them a seat at the table. That’s the conversation I had with Tumelo Scarlette (@Scarlette_Melon) to talk about the Blooming Women Empowerment Conference, happening August 29. We talked about why she started it, the gaps she sees in existing spaces, and Why women’s empowerment with Bitcoin matters. It's a 25-minute conversation about women, Bitcoin, leadership, and creating spaces where women aren't just attending — but taking the lead. 🎙️ Watch the full conversation 👇 [1/2]

This is exactly why we need to stay calm and understand the difference between Bitcoin and the infrastructure built around it. The attacks are serious, but Bitcoin itself hasn’t been broken. We learn, fix, improve, and keep building.
Why is there an attack on Bitcoin right now? This is so sad, I really don´t think how we can recover after this? I thought lightning was good...now they are being attacked too? Like, I am not even mad... I am just sad, sad that this is probably the only sound money that existed and I thought it would be hedge against inflation. This is horrible, if this doesn´t bounce back, we are screwed. Screwed in the sense that every single online transaction will forever be tracked back to you. We will not have the freedom to transact freely without being tracked. I was going to say, ¨just move to a ´cash is king´country,¨ but that doesn't even stand...India made sure even the most cash dependent countries could go to online money in hours.

One thing I’m learning as a designer: Not every design needs to be complicated. Sometimes good typography, spacing, a strong image, and a clear message are enough. Simple doesn’t mean lazy. If you agree, drop a ❤️

Sometimes, the biggest opportunities start with simply showing up. 🧡 You never know who you’ll meet, what you’ll learn, or where one conversation might lead. Can’t wait to see more #MyABCStory moments from the community. ⚡🌍
Damilola Robert, Lead Growth & Marketing at Bitnob, shared his #MyABCStory, from the people he met and conversations he had to the opportunities that followed. Self-custody comes with responsibility, but that’s the point. Learn it properly, take your time, and don’t trust what you don’t understand. 🔥
Trustless self-custody is not easy, and is not simple, and thats ok. Study: - the @SeedSigner Project ❤️‍🔥 - how to generate your own entropy for you seed phrase - multivendor multisig - passphrases November 2025 WBD Episode with @sesi_the_man @SeedSigner @_DannyKnowles Warning and Foreshadow 😔

Sometimes the hardest part of design isn’t creating the design. It’s knowing what to remove. Too many colors. 🎨 Too many fonts. 🖋️ Too much information. 🗂️ A Good designer is also about knowing when to stop.

Honestly, this is what Bitcoin companies need. Finding a good designer shouldn’t depend on who happens to reply your DM. Post the work. Find the right person. Pay in sats. ⚡
If you're running a Bitcoin company... Stop searching through DMs ❌ Stop asking, "Does anyone know a designer?" ❌ ✅ Post your project ✅ Review proposals ✅ Hire with confidence ✅ Pay in Bitcoin That's the experience we're building at BitLance.

Be honest 😂 Team A: Designs that look really good and are portfolio-worthy. Team B: Designs that may not look perfect, but actually get results. Which one are you choosing and why?

I’d go with Team B. Sometimes a design can look crazy good but still not get the job done. If a simple, not-so-pretty design gets people to actually stop, read, click, or buy, then I’ll take that any day. At the end of the day, the design should work, not just look good.
