Magic constants are not bad. You wouldn't use named constants in something like mv^2/2 (mv^two/two ?!) would you? The same goes for unit tests. If you test that function fails when 0 is passed 0 is pretty descriptive in function application by itself.
Compile time errors are superior to runtime ones. Primarily because there is no way your customers can see them.

The culture and people are great, and you're given a lot of freedom to choose tools, tech and approaches to solve the business needs. For instance we have a core group of FP enthusiasts, and #fsharp in production😊. There are very bright engrs here to learn and collaborate with.
