7 TRAITS OF PEOPLE WHO CAN’T BE MANIPULATED Most people are pawns because they act on impulse. The people who can’t be manipulated move differently. They’ve mastered their own reality, and have refused to be the subjects of someone else’s agenda.

A legally wedded Muslim couple from Bangladesh visited Saudi Arabia for Umrah. The husband wanted a honeymoon in Nepal but the wife preferred an Umrah in Mecca, which has been a lifetime ambition for her. During the Umrah, the couple got overwhelmed with joy, hugged each other and shared a kiss. A Pakistani guy recorded the moment and shared it to the police. The Islam authorities got hold of the video and had the young couple arrested. Ordered their beheading. This couple got beheaded with sword and the executioner shouted Allahu Akbar! The bodies of the couple have been returned to Bangladesh in body bags.

I didn't go to college until I was 30. This gave me a chance to see it with the perspective of an adult. One lecture in Industrial Psychology, in particular, I will never forget. The professor spoke about how an effective job description focused on concretely measurable tasks, not vague instructions, or characteristics. For example, "maintain an 85% or greater average on customer feedback surveys", instead of "be cheerful and upbeat", or even "interact positively with customers". This means that goals are clear, and performance is measurable. A job is to do something, not be something. Once some of the students had wrapped their minds around this concept, the professor decided to do a class exercise. He asked the female students to come up with a job description for "husband". At first, this went fine. The girls noodled around a bit with things they wanted their husbands to be (tall, etc), but he was able to gradually steer them towards describing what they wanted in terms of actions. But then he asked the male students to define a wife in the same way. And all the girls became upset. Some of them had full-on meltdowns. Every single thing that a male student wanted, or expected, from his hypothetical future wife was sexist, oppressive, old-fashioned, misogynistic, patriarchal, etc. They were literally screaming. Some of them in tears. And I realized something pretty quickly. It wasn't the actual, concrete responsibilities of the female role that they objected to. It was the idea of there being a female role at all, with any attached responsibilities. These women didn't want to be wives. They wanted to be pets. What's a pet? Well a pet is not a wife, or a friend. A pet is a creature of instinct, which you bring into your home because you like how it naturally behaves. You get a cat because you want to behave like a cat, and do things a cat naturally does, like play with string, and purr when you pet him. If he's smart, he'll adapt to you somewhat, but he doesn't have responsibilities other than "be a cat". If you get a wife, you get a wife so she will do things for you, specific things that are the responsibilities of wife, like care for your home, bear and raise your children, cook nutritious meals so you don't have to eat processed slop, look after your emotional well-being, and so on. These girls didn't want to be held responsible for those things. As married women, they might have anticipated doing some of them, but only some of the time. Only when they felt like it. The cat chases the string if and when it wants to, not because chasing the string is its job. These young millenial women didn't realize it, but they wanted to be pets. And that's what they were in their college relationships. They hung out with guys when they wanted to, had sex with them when they wanted to, broke up with them for someone new when they wanted to. Their relationships had no element of reciprocal responsibilities. They were perfectly at home with the idea of men having responsibilities to them, but they would repay those men if they chose, and how they chose, not how the men actually wanted. And as I've said twice already, someone you have responsibilities to, but who has none to you, is a pet, or a child. Since our ancestors, in a moment of foolishness and weakness, allowed women to vote, it is no longer legal to dole out the corrective spankings a great many of them both need and read pornographic novels about. Therefore, the corrective measure, for any man who finds himself with a pet instead of a wife, is to withdraw from any husbandly duties and start actively searching for alternatives. This can either result in a correction of the behavior, or the end of a relationship that offers no value. Either is acceptable. This may strike some of you as dishonorable, but there is no honor in keeping a broken pact, or in serving those who despise you. Men must have the pride and self-worth to say "I will be honored and respected, or I will depart to a place where I can be, even if I must be alone there." Men must honor and respect themselves.

"We understood the trick early." One of the biggest national flexes a country can have. Most of us in the Global South didn't unfortunately, which is why many of us don't even understand that Iran is literally taking bullets for us right now as you're reading this.
The West didn't end colonialism. They rebranded it as development. The formula never changed: debt and dependency for the obedient, sanctions and coups for the defiant. We understood the trick early, never bowed, paid the price and humiliated the Great Satan. One more blunder by the US and its myth is over.

I’ll say it again: if 70% of our youths were subjected to listening to Fela for a decade, half our problems as a nation would solve themselves. Never underestimate the power of music to shape the mind.

If you think about Nigeria long enough, consistently - you'll become a walking ball of hatred. For Ademola Adeleke to clench his governorship seat, APC killed/wounded 38 people. THIRTY EIGHT. He and his nephew were crying daily. Since he won, Osun state has been in unrest. People have been dying - to put it specifically, cultists have been "counting scores". The weapons they (both camps) armed their foot soldiers with, just for the purpose of elections still runs wild on the streets. Those ones have been targetting each other. One of Adeleke's core foot soldier was also murdered. The same APC, he is dancing a show of shame back to lick his vomit. A very dishonorable family. Again, If you think about Nigeria long enough, consistently - you'll become a walking ball of hatred. There's someone new to hate, an existing pattern to be disgusted by.

I still remember when my colleague was kidnapped on her way home from work early this year. For two months, her parents ran from pillar to post, borrowing money and begging family and friends to help raise the ransom. When she finally came home, she narrated how they were gang-raped every morning and night. The kidnappers chose their victims and temporary married them to themselves celebrating, eating and drinking like it was a legal union. She said sometimes they shared one woman among two, three, or four men. Weeks after her release, she was found pregnant. That same week, we lost her to su!cide. The trauma was more than her heart could bear. And whenever I see people still supporting this government, I remember her. I remember her parents, I think of other victims that never made it to the media. How do you watch people suffer d!e like this and still defend a government that has failed to protect them? Are you human at all or just deliberately wicked?

I can hang out with my Male friends 7 times a month and we’ll both pay for whatever we get and/or I pay on some days and he gets to pay on some days I also don’t have to pamper his emotions when we banter/gist so it makes the whole thing more fun and seamless. That said… this brings us to how you people also ask why Men just can’t be friends with Women without wanting sex. The major problem is, once you people see the presence of a Male figure, you automatically don’t want to become useful(even when capable) Most Women refuse to tender other things when building something(friendships/acquaintances) with a Man, besides SEX.(and some Men make do with that) So when that sex is taken out, having to always hang out with female figures becomes a HUGE loss to the Man in the long run coz it eventually turns into a parasitic togetherness as against symbiotic… Men rather chill with their fellow Men since the Men are willing to tender other tangible things. And when they chill with Women, they find a way to accept their only tender(or should I say the only tender Women are willing to give) ? Ladies, ask yourself.. how many times do you get to holla at your Male friend(s) and just go pick him up, chill.. pay for whatever you guys get and probably drop him back home ? Tender all these other things and see if he won’t want to hang with you more.. . . . Away from all of that, I don’t think Women realize how energy-consuming it is to just co-exist with them, considering how they’re almost never self-sufficient This has nothing to do with whether or not she’s a good woman/bad woman/broke woman/rich woman. Men don’t get to express these things enough.

I’ve been talking about this for over a decade now.

You will never learn this in school.
Sylvanus Olympio was shot on January 13, 1963. He was two days away from pulling Togo out of the CFA franc, when the imperialists struck. The story that gets told is simple. A group of Togolese soldiers, led by Sergeant Étienne Eyadéma, stormed the presidential residence in Lomé. Olympio fled, hid in a car outside the US embassy, and was found and shot at the gate. Eyadéma admitted it: "He could not stay there. There would have been demonstrations. He would not move. I shot him" .‌‌ That is the version that fits the official record. It is also incomplete. Olympio was not killed over a military pay dispute, though that is the trigger the soldiers used. He was killed because he was about to sign Togo's withdrawal from the CFA franc zone and launch a national currency backed by the Deutsche Mark. He had already founded the Banque Centrale du Togo in 1962. The agreement was days from being signed .‌‌ France had reasons to want him gone. De Gaulle's Africa advisor, Jacques Foccart, said it plainly after Olympio's death: "Sylvanus Olympio was not one of our friends" . The French ambassador in Lomé knew the coup plotters personally. They were former French army soldiers. France opposed an independent investigation into the assassination .‌‌‌ After Olympio was killed, his brother-in-law Nicolas Grunitzky was installed as president. He immediately abandoned the national currency plan and signed cooperation agreements reaffirming Togo's use of the CFA franc. The currency Olympio died trying to leave is still in use today .‌‌ The scholarship is careful. Historians like Skinner and Glasman argue the coup was rooted in the discontent of ex-French soldiers Olympio refused to integrate into Togo's tiny army. The monetary story is "an underlying factor," not the single bullet . But the timing is hard to ignore. Olympio was killed while negotiating monetary independence. The negotiations ended with his death. Togo stayed in the franc zone.‌ His brother-in-law took power. The man who pulled the trigger, Eyadéma, ruled Togo for 38 years after overthrowing Grunitzky in 1967. Olympio's chair at the founding of the OAU in May 1963 was left empty. It was meant to be a warning. It became a template .‌‌
