This is what I don't think people understand..
$TIG is looking to achieve something with licensing that's not been done before
They are attempting to fundamentally change how algorithmic innovation is monetised
An open, global marketplace.. where anyone can discover a better algorithm, prove its value and potentially earn ongoing royalties when businesses and others license it
Imagine thousands of humans and AI agents continuously competing to solve the world's hardest computational problems.. with the resulting breakthroughs becoming commercially valuable assets
Its creating an entirely new economy around algorithms
People just do not understand how massive or important this is..
When licensing goes live.. $TIG is going to valhalla

There are three roles worth understanding
- Innovators create algorithms..
Lets talk about vehicle routing.. someone creates a challenge around it..
An Innovator develops a new method that finds better routes using the same computational budget..
They submit it
If the algorithm performs well enough and becomes useful to the network.. it can attract adoption and rewards
This changes a core path for researchers..
It goes from.. "Develop an algorithm, publish a paper and hope somebody notices"
To.. "Develop an algorithm that demonstrably performs better and participate economically in the value created"
Those are two radically different incentives
- Benchmarkers on the other hand.. they provide the competitive pressure
They run the algorithms against base:0x0c03ce270b4826ec62e7dd007f0b716068639f7b's computational challenges and are economically incentivised to perform well
This creates an important part of the system where there is continuous evaluation
You do not simply claim your algorithm is superior..
Other economically motivated participants in the network test algorithms and decide which ones they want to use
If another algorithm performs better.. benchmarkers have an incentive to migrate towards it
That creates constant pressure towards adoption of stronger methods
You have to survive the competition.. Because if something better appears, you lose
- Then there are Challenge Owners
They're essentially experts who decide which problems base:0x0c03ce270b4826ec62e7dd007f0b716068639f7b should compete to solve
A specialist in logistics might create a Vehicle Routing challenge.. an AI researcher might create an optimisation challenge.. an energy expert could create one around power systems
Their job is to design the challenge, keep it relevant to real world research and attract the right people to compete
And they're themselves rewarded when their challenge produces meaningful breakthroughs

Instead of the @tigfoundation having to understand every industry itself..
- Experts bring the problems..
- Researchers and AI systems compete to solve them..
- Successful challenges attract more attention and capital..
And over time.. eight challenges could become dozens..
Then hundreds.. Potentially spanning entirely different industries
The result is a system where experts around the world can continuously create new markets for problems worth solving

Any pursuit of superintelligence has to be grounded in the core principle that if the AI we build is not helping humanity and under human control, it's not worth pursuing.
We also need to accelerate and spread the benefits of AI, such that they are diffused broadly across countries, communities, and companies. This requires a frontier ecosystem in which both closed and open-source models can thrive.
And for firms, itβs imperative that they retain full control over their unique and tacit knowledge. Every organization should be able to build its own continuous learning loop/hill climbing machine, without becoming dependent on any one model provider, and have the ability to embed its own knowledge into models and weights they control.
So, in this context, we welcome the research, focus, and deliberate pacing needed to get alignment right as the design goal. We also welcome ideas like "embedded evaluators" and the broader efforts to develop the mechanisms to make this more than just talk.
The key is that this cannot be controlled by a handful of entities, but must have broad representation across the ecosystem, countries, and fields, including academia.
This is the approach we are taking: broad access and choice at every layer of the AI stack; enterprise control of learning loops and models; and the βCode of Conductβ that underlies our own first party MAI models that weβll publish tomorrow for public consultation.
