One canary in the coal mine I'm glad died.
The Canary will be closed for the foreseeable future. As of today (Monday 19 October), the Canary will be closed indefinitely. After multiple attacks this year, from Lloyds debanking us to former employees spreading malicious lies on social media, the situation has become unsustainable, both financially and operationally. After 11 years, we take this action with deep sadness and regret. The extent of the lies, defamation, and harassment by ex-staff - coupled with the constant attacks by the state and those who’d see us destroyed - has become too much. However, it is not over. This week, we will publish what really happened at the Canary and push back against the vicious campaign against our team and us. We may be down, but we’re not out yet.

“Don’t smash it up, she’s a sister!” This shop manager protecting her business is spared by the thugs out of Muslim solidarity. Still absolutely no connection to immigration.

I don't think I've ever cringed this hard.

Interesting how there’s no consistency or actual principles behind outrage just whatever the algorithm tells women to be angry at, they naturally just become angry at it

I used to like Tim Pool, but he's becoming an absolute dick since having his child I don't know what's happened. After my daughter was born I actually became a better person

The Government can actually help by reducing any of the following; Remove carbon taxes applied under drilling for crude oil Remove carbon taxes applied when refining to petrol Remove or lower fuel duty applied at the pump Remove or lower VAT applied at the pump The government has it within its power to do any or all of these but you choose not to. So don’t stand there wringing your hands in faux compassion pretending you are helpless.
Do you want to find the cheapest petrol in Ipswich? Now you can with the Government's Fuel Finder. Partnering with Google, Fuel Finder provides real-time data and displays the prices at each petrol station. Give it a go by searching 'petrol' on Google Maps before you fill up.

Diesel is £2 per litre at the pump, and “right-wing” journalists and influencers are taking paid-up propaganda tours to the country chiefly responsible. British patriots should not shill for Israel, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does.
Last day in Israel. Flying home tomorrow. Amazing country. Wonderful, kind resilient people with breathtaking history. We've spoken to politicians, journalists, activists from all sides and leant a huge amount. It's been the trip of a lifetime and I've made friends for life.

The man who led Serco when it won asylum-accommodation contracts estimated at £1.9 BILLION now sits on the board of the Home Office, the department that awarded them. Rupert Soames was Serco CEO from May 2014 to December 2022. In 2019, Serco won two ten-year asylum accommodation and support contracts covering the North West and Midlands & East of England. Soames described them as “the largest contracts by value ever awarded to Serco”. In June 2026, he joined the Home Office. It now lists him as its LEAD non-executive director. The department says its board steers and scrutinises its strategy, performance and capability. Serco remains an asylum-accommodation contractor. The former contractor chief now helps scrutinise the customer. How is the Home Office managing any potential conflicts of interest on Serco-related matters? Is he excluded from those discussions? £1.9bn was Serco’s original estimated ten-year contract value, not money already spent.
