If government officials actually delivered the essential...
Well paying jobs, a real economy (instead of the abomination that is Wall St and endless War), taxed the oligarchy on wealth & unrealized capital gains, provided Medicare for all, and a surfeit of affordable housing...
Instead of serving greed, a foreign gov, their day trading portfolio, and repugnant billionaires...
Made college tuition and trades schooling free...
America's political class would have little to worry about.

Christopher Hitchens on Israel and Zionism:
"I think Zionism is a stupid idea to begin with, it's a bad idea, a Messianic idea, a superstitious idea. And it guaranteed a quarrel with the Arabs because it meant we're going to take away from you what is most precious, your land. It guaranteed an injustice to the Arabs which now anyone can see and is now entering its fourth generation of Palestinians brought up either in exile or dispossession or under occupation and humiliation, and now we know something has to be done to address what is part of the original sin."
"I've been writing in favor of a Palestinian homeland all my life, and I'm now no less or more in favor of it than I was before. It's a matter of principle."
"If Jews born in Brooklyn have a right to a state in Palestine, then Palestinians born in Jerusalem have a right to a state in Palestine. Anyone who doesn't agree with that principle is suspect."
"Everybody knows that if you want to occupy people against their will, if you want to be the governor of another people who haven't chosen you, you will end up visiting terrible cruelty on them. There certainly cannot be a humane occupation."
"I think the securely recognized borders should not allow for Israeli colonization or occupation of the territory of its neighbors, which is what it's doing now. The right to exist argument has been used now to the point where what it's going to mean is that the Israel you're talking about will include the annexed and illegally occupied West Bank."
"When George Bush senior said to the Israelis: If you go on like this I will ask Congress to suspend your loan guarantees, I thought that was extremely impressive, and so did everyone else in the Middle East. It led to the nearest we've ever had to a proper peace conference that was in Madrid. Bill Clinton chose to run that year from the right against Bush, saying that he thought Bush was being soft on Cuba, and also from the right on Israel, saying if he was President the Israelis would not be subjected to this kind of pressure.
So the last time that there was an impressive American policy it was a Republican administration, and it was undone by the hero of every liberal in this room."

The Israel national anthem is not a sacred Jewish hymn.
Protesting Israel is not an attack on Judaism as Israel doesn't speak for jews.

Israel has banned the entry of toilet seats and portable toilets into Gaza, classifying them as "dual-use" military items, as it does with sleeping bags, tarps, and wheelchairs. More than nine in ten Palestinians in Gaza have been displaced, most living in tents, after Israel destroyed over 90 percent of the territory's homes and infrastructure.
The result: 87 percent of Gaza's households have no proper access to a toilet. Families dig holes in the sand behind a curtain. Sewage seeps into the soil beneath the tents, contaminating the ground and turning entire displacement camps into health hazards, spreading disease, skin infections, and contaminating water sources.
A used, damaged toilet seat now sells for up to $700 in Gaza, when one can even be found. Israel has a ceasefire obligation to allow trade and basic goods into Gaza. It is using "dual use" as an excuse to deny two million displaced people a toilet seat.

What is really happening in the West Bank? To understand the reality, one must look beyond isolated events and examine the system that connects them. Join B’Tselem Executive Director, Yuli Novak, and Karim Jubran, B’Tselem’s Field Research Director, on a journey through the West Bank to see Israel’s elimination project in action, and to understand how its implementation has accelerated in recent years.
The film presents the central conclusions of our new report, “The Elimination Project,” which was published today. It brings together what we document daily across the West Bank: lethal violence, dispossession, settlement expansion, home demolitions, and the institutionalized dismantling of the conditions that sustain Palestinian life.
Only by connecting these Phenomena can we see the system for what it is. Israel is employing coordinated mechanisms to dismantle the very infrastructure that allows Palestinians to exist in the West Bank as a collective, while simultaneously expanding and entrenching Israeli control and Jewish presence across the territory.
Watch the film to get the full picture: the elimination project, what it is, how it operates, and how it has grown out of decades of Israeli apartheid.
Connect the dots. See the system.

Did you know, through Bill C-37 the Liberal government has refused to confirm the human right of all First Nations individuals to clean drinking water on reserve. Previous water legislation explicitly recognized this right, but the Liberals have deliberately removed it in Bill C-37. Apparently, in a country as rich as Canada, they seem to think First Nations do not have the right to something so basic as clean, safe drinking water. (1/2)

A new report we are publishing today exposes how Israel is turning the idea of population transfer in the West Bank from a political plan into a reality on the ground.
The report "Maximum Land, Minimum Population" shows that outposts, settlements, settler and military violence and movement restrictions are not separate phenomena, but parts of a mechanism that serves Israel’s declared policy: annexing as much of the West Bank as possible while leaving as few of its Palestinian residents as possible.
In other words - Ethnic Cleansing.
The report was jointly authored by Yesh Din, @BimkomPlanners & @HaMokedRights.

Netanyahu, on Channel 14:
"Close to 1,000 hours on American television, with the ability to influence the United States. Intimate knowledge of all its leaders—those who support us and those who don't."
He's not hiding it. He's describing a method.
A foreign leader openly explaining how he steered American politics toward war with Iran.
He didn't convince America. He "brought it to its senses."
The phrasing is its own confession. 🧭
