Religion-one of the worst inventions of the primitive human mind. Throughout history it was used to control and divide people. Radical secular education now!

I do have to point out here that while Trump's restructuring of America around a supreme presidency is more extreme than everything we've ever seen in our lifetimes, it's not an aberration. If anything, it's the logical conclusion of decades of Congress declining in power, as dysfunction has made it unable to do its basic job. Even before Trump, we have seen decades of both the President and the Supreme Court stepping in and basically assuming more and more indirect legislative powers because Congress is too partisan and gridlocked to pass major legislation anymore. Our lawmakers are constantly locked in petty squabbles. They mostly just pass overbloated omnibus bills that do a thousand little things for each special interest and nothing of consequence for the people. Half of all the new senators and congressmen these days seem to retire after one or two terms not out of some principled self-term-limiting, but out of a soul-crushing realization that nothing they're doing matters. It's not hard to understand why there's a certain group of voters that likes the idea of a president who just steps in and declares, I'll get this done since no one else is doing it. It's the same reason that in the late Roman Republic, plenty of the citizenry were excited about the country being reorganized as the Roman Empire. Because the system was so clearly broken that one guy just stepping in and getting things done seemed like a breath of fresh air.
We have legislative supremacy in the United States of America. Congress is the preeminent branch of our government. It's foundational to our republic and that can probably explain why it was defined first in Article I. We're not going to get control of our country back until more people understand that We the People are the Big Cheese in this republic and the president is not a tribune of the people because we already have people in Congress to represent us. We don't elect kings, we elect presidents to be the executor of the laws Congress creates and passes, to be our CIC during time of war, to represent our country before the world and to defend our constitutional rights. We entrust him for a temporary period of time to do this for us. The president ANSWERS to us, We the People, for the faithful execution of our laws and the president ANSWERS to our courts for proper fidelity to the United States Constitution. An American president is answerable to pretty much the entire nation. NOT the other way around. What I'm getting at is that ultimately our country's posture towards the conflict in Ukraine is up to us, We the People. Although these numbers can fluctuate depending on general sympathy or the extent of military aid and humanitarian assistance, the American public by and large is highly supportive of Ukraine in their gallant fight against the invader Russia, with strong support holding tight in the 60%-70% range the last I checked. President Trump's obvious bias with the invader Russia and his actions that are clearly intended to help Russia reach their goal of successful conquest of Ukraine is 180 degrees different from where the American population is. Remember, the president answers to everyone in a constitutional federalist democratic republic. He works for us. WE THE PEOPLE are the Big Cheese. The President is NOT a king. We can demand through our Congress that we regain control of this country from a tyrannical despotic president who views the country as his own personal plaything of which he and he alone gets to decide its global positioning. We the People need to get Congress back in session so that it can assert its supremacy over an out-of-control president who wants to align the country with dictators and abandon the free world to the extreme detriment of us all. Ultimately the bigger question isn't even about Ukraine. The bigger question is do you think that the United States of America should be a part of the free world, or do you think that the United States of America should belong to the Axis of Evil. President Donald Trump prefers the latter which is in sharp contrast to the loftier and more aspirational ideals of America.

I think you should delete this post, Mehek. Her mother stayed with the man who sexually abused Amy Acton. He was found guilty in court. No one should give this woman a platform. I repeat, delete this post.
🚨 WOW. Most political candidates spend October trying to win over undecided voters. Now Amy Acton’s mother is calling her a liar and urging Ohioans not to vote for her. Forget the undecided voters. This campaign has an undecided parent.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Acton’s stepfather abused her from age 9 to 12 and was criminally charged, and the family lived in a tent in winter. Her brother confirms they were removed from their mother’s custody. Acton’s stayed married to the stepfather until he died. sources: vindyarchives.com/news/2019/aug/… wkbn.com/news/elections… justthenews.com/politics-polic… mediaite.com/politics/vivek…

Ukraine was winning the war, so Trump kneecapped Ukraine to help Russia. I wish it weren’t that simple, but it is. Our president is in bed with our enemies.

Imagine if in 1943 FDR had decided that the US would stop helping Britain and instead would side with the Third Reich. That's a bit like what President Trump is now doing by cozying up to Russia as it tries to destroy Ukraine. Utterly shameful. A humiliating moment for the US.

Praising an indicted war criminal and dictator who bombs civilian sites and kidnaps children to destroy a neighboring democracy. This is deplorable.
Vance: "I've never met Putin in person. I've spoken to him on the phone. He was calmer than you might expect. The American media has a stereotype of him. He's very deliberate and measured in his words. I think, at his core, he's someone who cares about Russia's interests as he sees them. One reason he respects the President is that he recognizes the President cares about the interests of the American people."

This guy provided fentanyl to a woman, raped her while she was unconscious and then sent her naked photo to other men instead of calling for help. She died. He should be charged with rape AND murder. He violated her multiple times and then left her for dead.

No one “drove” Ukraine down any road. Putin invaded Ukraine. Russia was not threatened by Ukraine. NATO was not expanding to Ukraine in 2014 or 2022. Ukrainians are now compelled to fight for their very existence against an imperial dictatorship. They have no choice.
But the calculation of those who drove Ukraine down this primrose road is the following: Value of UKR casualties & dead: zero Value of RUS casualites & dead: positive. => so long as the war goes on, they win. This is the calculation of most MSM, many reporters, politicians and pundits. That's why the war can go on forever. Well, at least until the last Ukrainian & Russian. If war cheerleaders had any skin in the game, they would be much more careful. But they don't. War is costless to them. Only other people die.

If Putin stops fighting, the war ends. If Zelensky stops fighting then his country will be occupied, leaders murdered, language banned, businesses stolen, children kidnapped. That's what happens in Russian-occupied Ukraine.

US has not spent $350B on Ukraine. It has spent $132B, $33B of that is money. The rest is $21B in loans, repaid from frozen Russian assets, $4B in humanitarian aid, and the vast majority, $74B is military equipment. Half that equipment is new, made in the US. The other half is old stockpile equipment, which soon would have had to be demilitarized at great cost. The replacement equipment is made in the US, so the money stays in the US.
Meanwhile, the EU and European countries have spent a combined $271B, more than twice as much as the US.

This is why, with 22 days left, Democrats have to double down and get their voters out. Leave nothing on the playing field. Musk's field operation was very successful in 2024 and very much under the radar screen. We can't get complacent and we can't let up. We have to take advantage of this moment and blow it out and that means concentrating on the hard work of getting voters to the poll. We all have to go knock doors or make calls. I am going to do it in NC for @RoyCooperNC Inside Elon Musk’s $276 Million Midterm Rescue Mission for Republicans nytimes.com/2026/10/12/us/po…

Russian strikes killed over 80 Ukrainian civilians in two days. Moreover, it has stepped up its hybrid attacks against Europe, both EU Member States and NATO Allies. Suspending sanctions on Russian diesel provides Moscow with more revenues to wage war. This is not the time to ease pressure on Russia, and Europe won’t. On Monday, EU Foreign Ministers intend to approve the biggest set of sanctions listings targeting Russia’s war machine since the start of the war.

Trump's embrace of Putin and disdain for Zelenskyy is out of touch with American society. "Regarding Ukraine, the Trump administration has maintained intelligence-sharing with Kyiv and allowed the Ukrainian government to purchase some American weapons, but also has cut military aid to nearly zero in his second term. Just 22% of Americans say they want to decrease or stop this aid to Ukraine entirely, according to the latest YouGov/Economist poll. Most Americans say they want to either increase aid to Ukraine (27%) or maintain what we are giving them now (28%). The latter figure suggests that many Americans do not know just how little we are currently giving to Ukraine. Furthermore, Trump has adopted a neutral position on the Russia-Ukraine war, never blaming Putin for starting this war, but instead urging both sides to negotiate a “win-win” deal. American society does not share that approach. Most Americans (62%) sympathize with Ukraine, while only 2% sympathize with Russia, according to the latest YouGov/Economist data. Relatedly, 49% of American adults disapprove of the way Trump is handling the war, while only 28% approve. Trump’s embrace of Russia’s imperial dictator, Vladimir Putin, is not a foreign policy shift that sits well with Americans. The latest Pew Research Center data shows that 83% of Americans polled report that “they do not have confidence in the Russian president to do the right thing regarding world affairs.” Few issues in the United States enjoy such bipartisan support. This is one of them. Trump’s long-term embrace of Putin is very out of step with American society.:
