I’m starting a new film series, ‘Altered States’ in DC at @jasonhamacher’s fantastic Lost Origins Gallery! We’re kicking things off with John Frankenheimer’s 1966’s sci-fi thriller, “Seconds” starring Rock Hudson. I wrote some words about it for my blog.
rb.gy/hyesmy The legendary, eloquent, Peter Schjeldahl, a poet turned art critic for the New Yorker and the Village Voice, died yesterday at 80. Amazingly, though, this iconic photo the NYT ran of Peter and his wife Brooke was taken by my mom, Sheree! @shereerose2
rb.gy/ctxixl I played a live DJ set last night in DC for the first time in awhile. It was a blast! Check out my full playlist here. 🤯🙏❤️🎸🎹😎 #psychedelichealing @antonnewcombe @BJM_Band @soundcarriers @justmustard @VeldtThe @Thehighviolets @Tim_Burgess @aspirinage

On this day in 1989, Pete De Freitas, the drummer of Echo and The Bunnymen, died in a motorcycle accident aged 27, making him a member of the infamous 27 club. Pete was one of the finest rock & roll drummers of all time, RIP. 🙁 youtube.com/watch?v=nMplIrSl… @Will_Fuzz
@antonnewcombe Hey Anton, so I have some lousy news, I have Covid, and it's not mild, I'm in pretty bad shape. My wife and 7 year old daughter have it too. So I'm not gonna be able to make it to the Black Cat tomorrow night in DC, it's bumming me out big time. But what I thought
I'd do is take the 4 tickets I bought and give them away in exchange for people making a donation to @oxfamgb / @OxfamAmerica like you do. I'll make the same offer to my friends, and match the donations myself. I'm sick, but i'll be okay. Others are suffering much more than me.
“It would be naive to depend on the Supreme Court to defend the rights of poor people, women, people of color…Those rights only come alive when citizens organize, protest, demonstrate, strike, boycott, rebel, & violate the law in order to uphold justice.” Howard Zinn
This is so fucked up. The assholes that did this really deserve to be severely punished. If you see any of this gear in portland or anywhere, please get in touch with @antonnewcombe or anyone in @BJM_Band – at Washington, DC

Some more photos: I honestly believe that together, all of us gearheads can make these very hard to sell. Let’s find this shit and talk rewards - and to the mother fuckers that stole my shit that I feed my family with: it will be my hand that greets you when you die. you will 🔥
Brian Jonestown Massacre and Mercury Rev tonight in Baltimore at @RamsHeadLive! What an incredible lineup! There are still some tix available. Don’t miss it! #bjm #mercuryrev #Baltimore – at Baltimore, MD
Damnit RIP William Hurt 😞 I loved him in everything he did. He was such a great actor. My fav of his was the psychedelic masterpiece, Altered States, from 1980, written by Paddy Chayefsky, and directed by the great Ken Russell. If you haven’t seen it, it’s required viewing.
Happy Int Women’s Day! Love this pic of Natalie and Juliet in Paris from 2018. They’ve got their Mona Lisa Smiles on 😎🇫🇷♥️ #InternationalWomensDay2022
Unfortunately, Putin and Russia potentially "losing" the war does not make me feel better, it's very sad. The Ukrainian people will suffer horrible trauma for generations because of Putin's megalomania. Will we never learn from history? #StandWithUkraine foreignaffairs.com/articles/…
Please help Ukraine in any way you can, people are suffering and desperately need help now. Thanks so much to @antonnewcombe for using his platform to spread the word. My grandfather Murray, who was from Ukraine, would’ve said, he’s a real mensch.
