NEW: The DHS Inspector General just dropped a new, heavily redacted report that found a 40% failure rate in the vetting of asylum claims for Afghan nationals brought to the US by the Biden administration in 2021 after the Afghanistan withdrawal, including two cases that involved potential inadmissibility due to terrorism related concerns, but were missed because of missed aliases and incomplete documentation.
As part of a random audit, the DHS IG analyzed 678 out of 13,682 asylum cases adjudicated by the Biden administration USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services) as part of Operation Allies Welcome, and found the following:
- 303 missed aliases
- 23 missing security checks (failure to run names vs FBI/national security databases).
- 45 unresolved records (failure to resolve potential matches to derogatory information).
- 115 other documentation issues
A reminder, one of the Afghans brought into the U.S. via Operation Allies Welcome has been charged in the shooting of two National Guard soldiers in DC last year, which left one of them dead.

The Space Launch System costs $4.1 billion per launch. One launch.
NASA's own inspector general confirmed that number. Boeing builds the core stage. Northrop Grumman builds the solid rocket boosters. Aerojet Rocketdyne supplies the engines. Every one of those contracts flows to congressional districts where senators sit on the appropriations committees that fund NASA. Coincidence?
Congress mandated the SLS in 2010 because the cancellation of the Constellation program threatened to idle the same workforce and facilities that had built the Space Shuttle. Senators Richard Shelby and Bill Nelson wrote the requirement directly into the authorization bill. They protected Alabama and Florida jobs. The politics drove the rocket, not engineering logic.
SpaceX's Falcon Heavy lifts comparable payload for roughly $90 million. The SLS costs forty-five times more per flight. That gap destroys you as a taxpayer; you fund the difference without consent and without choice. No competitive bid. No market test. Boeing received cost-plus contracts, meaning every overrun simply became next year's invoice to the Treasury.
Ludwig von Mises identified the central problem: when bureaucracies spend other people's money on other people's projects, waste is the predictable outcome, not the aberration. Congress spent $23 billion developing the SLS before its first launch in November 2022. It launched twice total by mid-2026, with the third mission schedule slipping repeatedly.
The SLS is a constituency management program wearing a rocket as a costume.

NEW on CNN: âFuck you..hurry up and die." Will Lawrence, a Democrat running in one of swing seat that could decide control of Congress, deleted hundreds of old posts before launching his campaign. They show him backing a world without police and prisons, âforced nationalizationâ to end fossil fuels, abolishing the Senate, open borders, and bashing nuclear family homes.

Ok, Trump Administration rant time.
Let me explain why shipbuilding is screwed.
I have been offered at least a half dozen jobs in this Administration. I did not ask for a single one. I did not lobby for a single one. They came to me & I reluctantly said yes, I will serve my nation.
Fingerprints. Background investigations. Interviews with security agents. Legal reviews. Selling my entire stock portfolio, hundreds of man hours. All for jobs I never wanted.
And all of it stonewalled by some SES somewhere that cabinet members canât push through. Technically Iâm still âin processingâ for one of them, an SGE position, but my âManagement Support Officerâ stopped answering emails & calls in April. Ghosted.
Fine. IDC.
But there is one job I have asked for since Trump pulled ahead in the Republican primaries: Deputy Commandant of the US Merchant Marine.
It matters to my service & it is the office legally in charge of shipbuilding.
All three front runners for the Commandant position promised to fight for me.
The problem was that @SecDuffy, like every other cabinet member, refused to fire the previous SES & staff.
And nobody hates anyone in DC more than @PeteButtigiegâs former staff hates me.
So DOT staff still loyal to Pete said âhell no,â and Duffy handed the job to a congressional staffer instead. A guy who left the Merchant Marine at O3.
âHeâs extremely smart, Johnâ
âEveryone loves himâ
âThis guy is really going to fight for our nationâ
âHe has a law degreeâ
Fine. Have him call me, I said. He refused. Never once dropped a dime.
And guess what happened? He abruptly quit.
He didnât just quit. He left to make bank as CEO of a lobbying firm representing FOREIGN SHIPPING interests.
I realize Iâm âtoxic.â I realize half of DC hates me. I understand my wife is a liberal who has donated to Democrats. I get that WAPO has run articles explaining what a terrible person I am. I get that I can be an ahole.
I happen to think the secretaries of the services SHOULD be very nice people. The deputies should be aholes who get sh!t done. Thatâs how a ship works. The captain is nice. The mate is not.
But thatâs not what angers me. I donât want to move to the swamp anyway. I enjoy making lots of money.
What angers me is that there are extraordinarily talented people who have donated thousands of hours to this fight, loyal to the Admin, whom PPO & Duffy still wonât nominate.
@brentdsadler, who launched the working group that became the SHIPS Act and works at the most pro-MAGA think tank in DC.
Dr. @mercoglianos, universally loved, knows more about the USMM than anyone alive, and a decorated USMM war veteran.
@TomDansCFA, who has fought for the USMM for years and whose twin brother masterminded Project 2025.
@Admiral_Foggo, a four star who could be collecting board fees & instead works tirelessly at a nonprofit to get ships built.
@cdrsalamander, who has been fighting DEI and fighting for USMM ships for twenty years.
@maphumanintent, already in the administration, already served as an assistant secretary.
The list goes on and on.
AND THIS POSITION REQUIRES NO SENATE CONFIRMATION. Itâs a direct appointment.
Yet it has sat vacant for MONTHS.
And not just vacant. The entire community endorsed a candidate, an active duty Navy officer. @HungCao_VA pushed for the guy himself.
But there was lawfare against him. DoW investigated it. The court dismissed it as BS. He has worked in the White House. He works on sensitive intelligence right now. PPO still refused to take the chance.
âThe press might find out and hang us.â
F âthe pressâ
NOBODY IN THE PRESS gives two sh!ts about the USMM. Nobody except gCaptain which loves the guy.
âToo much political risk.â
So now we wait for them to find another useless staffer DOT can horse trade for broken promises of cooperation.
CONGRESS canât even pass the SAVE Act.
And nobody wants this job, not even me anymore.
So we donât have the #1 position that can push to unite Navy & USMM shipbuilding.

Things are unfolding exactly as I and others have predicted.
1) Iran has been exposed as being unable to control the Strait. Commerce has routed around it in the form of dark tankers transiting via Omani waters, demand destruction depriving Iran of customers for their oil, alternate forms of energy (the U.S., for example), alternate transit routes (the UAE pipeline going to the Gulf of Oman).
2) Iran's economy continues to spiral. Iran has the fourth highest inflation rate in the world, behind only Venezuela, Zimbabwe, and Sudan. Food prices are skyrocketing there; Iranians can't afford meat. 50 percent of Iran's food is imported; not a single tanker is going to their ports. Their key land connections to China have been severed. They cannot alleviate these problems without finding buyers for their exports (no one wants their oil) or printing more money to fund food subsidies (a hair of the dog solution that will worsen inflation).
The next step is famine and mass starvation. This will be blamed on America in the same way Israel is blamed for Gaza. But no one will do anything about it. Nobody will want to buy Iranian oil or sell them food.
So maybe the IRGC clings onto power. The price they pay is immiserating their people, being unable to replace destroyed military and civilian infrastructure, and being completely isolated from the world economy. Equivalent of the angry alcoholic in the trailer park that everyone avoids.
Holy shit theyâre doubling down, and asking that people do not share the footage. Insane.
Replying to @BrumPolice
The incident has been reviewed, and we have no concerns over the officer's actions and we are satisfied that they were reasonable and proportionate in the circumstances.
We would ask that footage is not further shared to allow the legal process to take its course.

New: Sen. Rand Paulâs son drunkenly accosted and hurled anti-Semitic insults at Rep. Mike Lawler at a Capitol Hill bar on Tuesday night.
His son told Lawler that if Rep Thomas Massie loses, itâs going to be because of âyour people.â
âMy people?â Lawler asked Paul.
âYeah, you Jews,â Paul responded.Â
âDo you think Iâm Jewish?â Lawler asked. âIâm not.â
âOh wow, Iâm so sorry for calling you a Jew,â Paul said.Â
He then said that Jews were âanti-Americanâ and how Lawler and his âJewish supportersâ served Israel more than America.
