And I’d do it all again and again. I am you and you are me. I chose us because you chose me and loved me. ❤️
I applaud @drtlaleng for agreeing to represent the EFF as its mayoral candidate for Joburg. You had many options as an accomplished doctor, but you chose us. For that, you have my respect and gratitude. The ground forces love you because you have shown love for the organisation.

The only sensible voters in these elections are those from Buffalo City, they did not look for a white saviour, they opted for another pro black party.

JUST IN : The ANC’s Gwede Mantashe tells me on #TheCMShow that the decline in ANC support is because of a “maturing democracy” and not the fault of the ANC. The CSIR projects the ANC support to be at 30% nationally. A 10% drop from 40% in last national elections. I asked Mantashe if the decline in support is not the ANC’s doing, and his response was “No, it is because there are more parties contesting. It’s a maturing democracy” he told me. @Radio702

Gwede was on 702 saying the ANC’s decline is not because of their wrongdoing. This is exactly the problem with the ANC.

"We have given them that freedom " is EXACTLY why the ANC will keep hemorrhaging votes.
LGE 2026 | "We have given them that freedom and we don't regret it," says ANC National Chairperson Gwede Mantashe on South Africans exercising their democratic rights, with early election results showing significant losses for the party.

I have a question and comment: What informed @MYANC’s decision to campaign without naming its mayoral candidates? Strategy must be built on evidence and insights. People respond to people. They want to know who is asking for their trust, what that person intends to do and why they should believe them. A credible candidate, connecting directly with communities, can give voters a reason to imagine something better even where the party’s record offers little encouragement. Why, then, place the full burden of incumbency at the centre of the campaign? Why ask voters to look past years of disappointing delivery without offering an identifiable leader willing to account for those failures and make a persuasive case for doing things differently? A strong candidate cannot erase a party’s record. But they can offer voters a concrete proposition: judge my abilities, interrogate my plans and hold me to my promises. What evidence suggested that withholding that candidate would be more persuasive? Does anyone know what research and evidence the ANC surfaced to craft this strategy? There is also a question of accountability. Yes voters elect councils rather than mayors directly. But knowing whom a party intends to put forward helps them make an informed choice. Campaigning without that disclosure asks voters to endorse the party first and discover its choice of leader afterwards. Why should voters give the ANC that much discretion when its record is precisely what needs defending?

Another thing. No one knows everything. Be open to learning new things. Learn how to receive new information & process it without feeling like you're being attacked. I'm too old to be arguing about "wording." And yes. "Wording" is an actual word. Nhai veduwe. Nharo ndedzei?

Patriarchy is illogical. None of it matches material reality. It’s the longest running PR scam in history.
Men calling women bad drivers when men still cause 73- 78% of fatal and serious car crashes. Men calling women “too emotional” when men commit 80 - 88% of violent crimes (and most war crimes) yet also form 80 - 86% of police and security forces maintaining law and order. Men calling women “dependent” even though women still perform about three times more unpaid care and domestic work worldwide. Men calling women “overly sensitive” even though women score higher in cognitive empathy across 57 countries.
