I wrote about defining "streetwear". Shouts to @YoungCorey @spacetigre @LoisSakany for the great historic context.
My POV is designer houses adopting the term, bifurcating the definition, and making it even more confusing for the end consumer

Two Black lawmakers were arrested for their opposition against white state legislators eliminating Black representation in the state of Tennessee.
Absolutely insane things are happening in the year 2026.

Wrote about this in 2024. Proliferation of generative AI will push luxury and trend back to craft and human imperfection as status signal. Already seeing it at Loewe, etc.

I think my brother is running a play that will be thee most impressive “niggah sh*t” I have ever witnessed. He’s run some 1/1 routes in his life so I won’t be surprised I will be in awe.

Eponymous brands are cool.
A reason people now tend to use altered versions of their name, etc. is because once you use your full government, that becomes the IP of the entity.
Tons of people out there who don’t own their own name.
Your own name.
The reason many people don’t do this is because deep down they know their clothes is garbage. So they gotta overcompensate with a fake Italian name or a name that sound like Ikea Furniture.
Dior, Versace, and Saint Laurent did not start as luxurious names. They’re ordinary names that became elevated through the legacy of the brands behind them.
Unserious people try to imitate that prestige by using names that sound similar, instead of doing the actual work of elevating their own names.
We at it again
