Howard Webb the foul by Newcastle's Sven Botman's on Aston Villa's Nicolas Jackson was a "high-end reckless challenge".
He backed the VAR's decision not to intervene for a red card on referee's call.
NB: A reckless challenge is a yellow card.

Look familiar? Brighton been playing this way for years so the evolution has been smoother between coach to coach signing to signing we’ve got a team that’s in between two styles still more aggressive runners little technical ability… that doesn’t mean that everything Jaissle is doing should be overlooked there is bits he has to coach better but you’ve got to give patience we are changing our style we won’t see the end product of it for ages yet even if our performances and results start to turn for the better #nufc
Fabian Hurzeler's tactics are bamboozling every team Brighton face 🤯

So thought balloons put out by someone at the Premier League or club involved regarding a big point deduction this reason and something next.
Sum total?
No titles rescinded.
City back in 2-3 seasons
They'll keep plenty of players to compete plus academy.
So 20 trophies, elevation from nationally big-ish club to globally big club, owners carry on regardless, nothing to see regarding last few years including fees, player and former managers contracts.
Seems fair.
If that's the punishment then I genuinely hope Newcastle United in particular just blow everyone out of the water and overheat the system in England so much that it will be impossible to compete at all. That they win every major trophy every season for 50 years and destroy English football, bankrupting 50+ clubs as they chase the impossible.
Because if the punishment for a decade plus of deliberate corrupt practice is 2 or 3 seasons out of the Premier League then I'll cheer on any club in this land who does the same in the future.

Alfie has started the season brightly, scoring five goals in his opening six Under-18 Premier League fixtures as well as making his Under-21s debut during last month's EFL Trophy victory against York City. We are delighted to be alongside Alfie on the next step of his journey. 💫
