Vincius is not making it back into that first 11 except Diomande gets injured. Mourinho has figured out his starting attack line.

"The OK ticket is neither working for nor acting on behalf of the APC or any of its candidates." — Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso I believe Sen. Kwankwaso. I think the OK ticket is a serious one; and I do not believe they are working for anyone but their own ticket. However, this statement is ill-advised. Students of psychology and political comms have a name for the reaction this statement is getting: the innuendo effect. Repeat an accusation, even to deny it, and you fix it more firmly in the public mind. Or as Claud Cockburn put it: believe nothing until it has been officially denied. The NDC has fine media professionals. They should advise their candidates about political comms in the 21st century.
I have noted with deep concern the conduct of the ADC campaign team. The attacks directed at me, our presidential candidate His Excellency Peter Obi, and our party, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), are unnecessary and unhelpful. Rather than focusing on presenting the competence, credibility, and capacity of their own candidate as we have consistently done by placing our credentials and record of achievements before Nigerians, the ADC Presidential Campaign Council appears intent on creating mischief against our party and ticket. This includes attempts to portray us as working for the ruling party or to suggest that we may withdraw from the race in favour of the ADC candidate at the last minute. The ADC-PCC would be better served directing its energy toward rebutting the serious allegations levelled against their candidate by the Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, instead of targeting me and His Excellency Peter Obi. We are aware that the ADC-PCC may try to mislead our supporters on the eve of the election by claiming that we intend to withdraw in their favour. Let me state clearly and unequivocally: we will not withdraw our candidature for the ADC or any other party. We remain confident in our capacity, competence, and readiness to lead Nigeria. The OK ticket is neither working for nor acting on behalf of the APC or any of its candidates. We see no possibility or reason to withdraw from the presidential race in favour of the ADC candidate or any other. These claims are unfounded and should be treated as such. The APC-led government has failed Nigerians. The ADC offers no better alternative. We believe the OK ticket presents a credible and viable option, backed by proven capacity, a strong track record, credibility, and broad support across both Northern and Southern Nigeria. It is a healing ticket committed to uniting our country and tackling critical challenges in security, education, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, the economy, and other key sectors. We believe the NDC remains the most formidable and viable opposition party in the country. I therefore urge all our supporters and well-meaning Nigerians to continue working toward the victory of our great party. Nigeria will be OK. - RMK

Tai Solarin paid Nzeogwu's mother stipends till he left this world. He also took in Nzeogwu's brother and sister and trained them for free. Until his demise, the great Nigerian activist, Tai Solarin, never told anyone that he took care of Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu's mother, brother and sister. It was Nzeogwu's mother, Madam Elizabeth, who made the revelation in an interview on December 27, 2001. That's seven years after Tai Solarin's demise. Madam Elizabeth told Daily Trust that she called Tai her son. "Oh my son. He was very good to my children. After the war, he came and took two of my children, Philomena and Peter, and put them in his school. He trained the two of them. When he was alive, he opened an account for me in Asaba. I was withdrawing money regularly from the account until he died." Nzeogwu's sister, Theresa, also confirmed Tai Solarin's role in their lives saying Peter, who was the last child of the family, was already a Professor at the University of Missouri, United States of America at the time of the interview. "Tai Solarin was a friend of Chukwuma. They became friends after the 1966 coup. So, after the wãr, he came to Okpanam and took Philomena and Peter and trained them at his school, Mayflower, at Ikenne (Ogun State). "When Tai Solarin was alive, he used to visit us regularly. He opened a bank account for mama in Asaba. He was paying money into the account until he died. "He did not believe in God but we have not seen a believer in God that one can compare with him." Meet the Nigerian Scientific Power Couple: Professor Pius Nwankwo Okeke and Professor Francisca Nneka Okeke from UNN. Professor Pius Nwankwo Okeke is a distinguished Nigerian astronomer and educator widely known as the Father of Astronomy in Nigeria. His work helped advance astronomy education and space research in Nigeria and Africa. He co-authored Senior Secondary Physics with M. W. Anyakoha, a textbook that has helped generations of Nigerian students study physics. His wife, Professor Francisca Nneka Okeke, is an accomplished Nigerian physicist in her own right. In August 2025, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) officially named asteroid (149831) Okeke in her honour, recognising her scientific contributions. The asteroid's name stands as a lasting tribute to her work. Her other notable achievements include: 2013 L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science Laureate, recognised for her research in the physical sciences. A trailblazer in physics: She has been recognised as the first woman professor of physics in eastern Nigeria. Their legacy is written not only in textbooks and scientific research, but also in the stars. 🌟

CIC Alumni: A Worthy Example of Giving Back Education remains the most important investment we can make in the future. Yesterday, Friday, 16 October, I visited the College of Immaculate Conception (CIC), Enugu to honour the invitation of College Alumni Association President Dr Valentine Ozoigbo and inspect the remarkable work being done by the college’s alumni. This is what I have continued to preach: we must give back to society. Those of us who passed through primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions have a responsibility to invest in them and remember the schools that helped shape our lives. I was immensely impressed by the alumni’s efforts under Dr Ozoigbo’s leadership. I saw impressive projects, including a multipurpose hall, a dormitory complex, a sports complex, and an ongoing five-storey staff quarters building. They are already planning their next project. This is a worthy example of what collective commitment and generosity can achieve. I pledge to be part of their STEM project. I encourage alumni of other institutions across Nigeria to emulate this example. We do not have to be immensely wealthy to make a difference. Through collective effort and regular contributions, we can improve our former schools, provide better facilities, and create opportunities for future generations. If alumni embrace this responsibility, our schools would be better equipped, and the burden on the government would be reduced. I encouraged the students to take their studies seriously, remain disciplined, and work hard. I reminded them that, with commitment and determination, they too can become successful in life. I also urged them to respect their teachers, maintain good relationships with them, and appreciate their guidance, even after graduation. I thanked the teachers for their dedication, particularly their efforts in maintaining the cleanliness of the school and the evident discipline among the students. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
