Had a meaningful interaction with Youth Parliament of Pakistan @youth_ppk.
It was a great privilege to join these brilliant young people and address them. I deeply appreciate the important initiatives of YPP under President @Ubaid_Qu and Chairman @AbrarUlHaqPK in empowering our youth and creating real opportunities for them.
I shared my journey from student leader to the Parliament of Pakistan — a path made possible by the invaluable guidance of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Her vision still lights the way to the highest echelons of public service.
It is our duty to help today’s generation achieve their goals. Student Unions are the basic nursery that grooms young minds, prepares them for healthy competition, and produces the leaders of tomorrow. The time has come to lift the ban and restore Student Unions.
Equally urgent is the full implementation of the Civic Education Commission Act 2018, so that the Constitution and civic education become a mandatory part of our curriculum.
Focused effort, sincerity to the cause, commitment and determination lead to success. Those who walk this path — the sky is the limit.

🇷🇺🇵🇰 On September 17, Ambassador Albert P. Khorev met with Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Russian Federation Sehar Kamran.
The two sides discussed the global and regional political and economic situation, as well as opportunities to further develop Russia-Pakistan relations.
🤝 Ambassador Khorev welcomed Ms. Kamran’s constructive approach to strengthening inter-parliamentary ties. Ms. Kamran expressed interest in participating in major multilateral events held in Russia.

Honoured to have met The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Zaker Choudhry as a guest of the Pakistan Youth Parliament's delegation, who invited me to join their meeting with him.
The conversation gave me a closer look at how local governance works here in Britain and the local government model, devolved authority, council-level accountability, and grassroots delivery…Set against Pakistan's, where local bodies remain structurally weak and almost ineffective: delayed elections, limited fiscal autonomy, and provincial and political reluctance to devolve power downward.
Much of the public frustration with governance in Pakistan traces back to this gap. Without functioning local government, there's no tier close enough to citizens to actually be held accountable for service delivery.
A useful case study in what local governance looks like when it's genuinely empowered.
