From day one, our residents train with purpose. Here, a PGY-4 guides a PGY-1 through central line placement - one example of the early hands-on experience, close mentorship, and strong procedural training that define our program.
Our Attending, @kerri_simo, and PGY-2, Yasser Abusabha MD, attended the @AHPBA this past weekend
Dr. Simo was an invited lecturer on management of simple hepatic cysts.
Dr. Abusabha presented an interesting case on intrahepatic biliary IPMN with malignant transformation.
It was a pleasure to host Dr. Megumi Asai, a colorectal surgeon, from @HenryFordHealth for Grand Rounds today. We learned tons from her insights during M&M and our post-conference table discussions.

Led by our Jobst/UTMC Vascular attendings, our residents were able to successfully simulate carotid exposure with endarterectomy and femoral artery plus popliteal artery cutdowns on cadavers.
