I believe this board made promises to these players which Maguire had also confirmed after he signed a new deal. This board lied to the players that they will invest massively in the squad. I understand Martinez's frustration because now the results are also not coming.

Yeah he won’t be sacked anytime soon, a certain manager was sacked mainly for calling out the board for failing to sign players he was promised. Carrick here justifying a glaring lack of depth we can all see. They wanted puppet manager & they got him. #MUFC

Even tho I had no complains when Amorim was sacked but with him we can see the ideas, pattern, intensity and what they were aiming to do. It just didn’t work and he was too stubborn to adapt. But with Carrick? We see absolutely nothing, just 11 guys and hope for the best. #MUFC

I still can’t believe Carrick didn’t even have a proper fitness and conditioning programme during pre-season. Do you realise that even National League teams spend their pre-seasons doing intense running and fitness work? Do you understand HOW CRAZY THAT IS? It’s honestly shocking how this coaching staff are managing Manchester United.
