Thanks to the @NJUtilities for honoring a sorely missed legend in the industry, our dear friend Joe Walsh.
Our 2022 Distinguished Service Award was given posthumously to Joe Walsh. We miss Joe dearly and fondly remember his commitment to the industry and NJ. Here is Joe's son, Andrew, and Andrew Wood of @JF_Creamer, with @NJUtilities's President @TomChurchelow, accepting the award.

Expanding funding to repair NJ's outdated water infrastructure today is a commitment to 💧 clean water, 👪 healthy families, and 💰 good jobs. UTCA and our partners urge lawmakers to support these critical investments njspotlightnews.org/2022/04/… #ourwaternj

As states and Congress consider various options to address high gas prices, ARTBA’s Transportation Investment Advocacy Center released a new study today that shows suspending the #gastax may not offer much relief at the pump. ⛽️ THREAD (1/10)

"...the Tax Foundation, a Washington, D.C.-based organization that closely tracks state and federal tax policies, suggested such a tax policy may make for “good politics,” but is “unlikely to achieve its aims.” @NJSpotlightNews #nogastaxholiday njspotlightnews.org/2022/03/…
Politicians looking for political soundbites are calling for "Gas Tax Holidays" to cut the cost at the pump. The UTCA and others have been railing against the idea. Read why we oppose a "Gas Tax Holiday" and how it's just another political gimmick. nj.com/opinion/2022/03/the-g…

We have has signed on to a letter of support for a "pump your own gas" bill (A3105) which is moving through the legislature that makes it permissive to pump your own gas in NJ.

The cost savings for A3105, which would make pumping your own gas in NJ permissive, is predicted to save .14 cents to .21 cents per gallon at the pump while still maintaining our valued infrastructure dollars.

Any dollars lost through a gas tax holiday would have to be made up by tax payers in some other form (higher taxes elsewhere) or would mean shortchanging the very infrastructure improvements we so badly need right now #nogastaxholiday nj.com/opinion/2022/03/the-g…

There are different factors that determine the cost of gas. The gas tax can barely be considered one of them. A gas tax holiday would just siphon away badly needed dollars to fund the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. #nogastaxholiday

Federal/state gas taxes have little to do with higher costs. An @ARTBA study found that gas prices are generally set due to the refining and distribution of oil. #nogastaxholiday
We all want lower gas prices. But a gas tax holiday, while well-meaning, isn't the answer. It would create worse financial problems for working people. We ask NJ's congressional delegation to remove/not add their names as sponsors of the legislation. #nogastaxholiday
