Some of the most glaring problems in the auto business today are: @jimfarley98 @Ford @Alumiduty @mtruby
(1) Designs are usually made by people that don’t drive the vehicles they design. They don’t know what is really needed/wanted in a Super Duty for example…..
(4) Things like Backup Assist are earth shattering to most designers, but laughed at by the actual truck guys.
Etc., etc., ect….
My point @Alumiduty @jimfarley98 is that there are truck guys in the market that know more about these trucks than most designers and engineers……
I love the truck, but at the price point that these trucks are at lately, there is so many bedazzled options that could be cut out and replaced with actual usable products. Stock airbags, for example. At first glance, you may think it would cost too much money, but how much does that useless backup assist button actually cost to develop and install in each truck?
When I was back in Detroit years ago, I was flattered that they wanted to bring some enthusiasts out to market the new models too, but a lot of the things were laughable. And when a lot of us mentioned incorporating components that would actually be used, the engineers and marketing team looked at us like they were confused.
