“How can I make Europe’s problems about Russia instead of taking accountability”

-Every Ukrainian should speak only Ukrainian language.
-So, why do you speak Russian now?
-Oh, sorry, (forgot)
Faking monkeys.

Canada should demand drug tests from any world leader that wants $26+ billion of our tax dollars.
Our money should ALWAYS come with strings attached.
Guess I’m different.
I don’t trust a coke head.
Again, the problem is that Ukraine commits war crimes every day. It kills Russian civilians like every day (when it can), it doesn't kill more coz it can't, not for any other reason.
In September, the most civilians killed by Russian missiles were in Kyiv — 32 dead and 340 wounded. People were hit on 22 of 30 days. That happened more often than in any other month of the war. Acc. to the UN, 328 civilians died and 2,105 were wounded across Ukraine. It was the worst September since the invasion started — 85% higher than last year.

!
Asked Grok to fact-check Edward Luce's claim that John Mearsheimer has discredited himself over Ukraine, by listing all this major claims related to its relationship with Russia since 1991.
Does this establish that he's discredited himself more than any other contemporary scholar?
1993: Warned that Russia might eventually attempt to reconquer Ukraine and that relations between the two countries could deteriorate into war. [CORRECT].
1993: Predicted that Ukraine couldn't rely on the US or its European allies to provide a meaningful military security guarantee against Russia. [CORRECT].
1993: Predicted that Ukraine would retain its part of the Soviet nuclear arsenal despite Western pressure. [WRONG].
1993: Said that Ukraine’s conventional military forces would eventually be defeated in a full-scale war against Russia. [NOT YET ESTABLISHED].
2014: Warned that Russia would use military force and other pressure rather than allow Ukraine to become a Western military stronghold. [LARGELY CORRECT].
2014: Claimed that Moscow wasn't interested in seizing any of the rest of Ukraine (beyond Crimea). [OVERSTATED/PARTIALLY WRONG].
2015: Warned that Western policy was leading Ukraine towards devastation, famously predicting that Ukraine would get wrecked. [LARGELY CORRECT].
2022: Opined that the war was unlikely to end quickly and that negotiations would be exceptionally difficult because Russia and Ukraine had incompatible objectives. [CORRECT].
2023: Predicted that Ukraine’s counteroffensive would fail to achieve a decisive military breakthrough against Russian defensive positions. [CORRECT].
2023: Predicted that Ukraine wouldn't recover its lost territories through a decisive military victory. [SEEMS CORRECT SO FAR].
2024: Forecast that Russia would probably defeat Ukraine during 2024 or 2025, rolling back its armed forces. [WRONG ON TIMING].
2024: Warned that Ukraine faced serious manpower shortages and would struggle to rebuild the forces required for a major successful offensive. [LARGELY CORRECT].
2024: Claimed that Russia would ultimately prevail militarily and Ukraine would become a dysfunctional rump state. [NOT YET ESTABLISHED].
2026: Predicted in January that Ukraine’s army would collapse on the battlefield in the near future. [WRONG SO FAR].

This is all true. There is something wonderfully absurd about the modern worship of the Budapest Memorandum. Its devotees demand fidelity to promises that were never made, while displaying remarkable indifference to those that actually were.
The Budapest Memorandum: I wish people would just read the text. 🔽 The US and the UK never gave Ukraine a security guarantee. Not even close. What was promised was a referral to the UN Security Council - which is exactly what they did after Russia invaded Ukraine. Ukraine has no cause for complaint on that point. But - and it's a huge but - they did also promise albeit in soft language, to develop a new security architecture that would have included both Ukraine and Russia - see the Annexure - who were both CSCE states. Had that in fact been done, just possibly this war would never have occurred. Let me add this then: What does Ukraine most seek today? A security architecture that includes it. What has Russia long sought and what does it still seek? A revision of the European security architecture that includes it. This war is indeed the consequence of the failure of the Budapest Memorandum, but not in the way most people think it is.
