CUNY students should be among the first in line for #FreeMetrocards. Transit costs are some of the top reasons students cannot afford to stay in school @USSCUNY @PSC_CUNY
New York City could offer free transit fares to more than 760,000 low-income seniors and people with disabilities for $67 million a year, according to a report by the city Independent Budget Office.

Although CUNY launched ASAP in 2007, this milestone is just the beginning of an incredible journey! This achievement is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our college program teams and, most notably, the outstanding students we're honored to serve. #CUNYProud #CUNYASAP
For 16 years, @cunyasap has helped 100,000+ @CUNY students from underserved communities earn their degrees. We're enormously proud that @SUNY and other colleges and universities across the country are replicating our model of student success. www1.cuny.edu/mu/forum/2024/…

Statement on today's announced NYC budget deal: “The Professional Staff Congress and its members are immensely appreciative of the Council’s restoration of $32.4 million in CUNY funding, the majority of the Mayor’s recent cuts to community college funding. #CareNotCUTs🧵

More on #NYCBudget: @NYCCouncil wins restoration of $32.4 million to CUNY. Other *nationally renowned* CUNY programs were also restored, including ACE and ASAP. This is a disaster-averted scenario, but does not fully recoup the Mayor's PEG cuts to CUNY over the last few years
Thanks to all the student leaders, faculty, staff, and all the advocates who stood up against the cuts to CUNY.
TODAY at 5PM a live Twitter Spaces conversation on public higher education in NYC & the city budget.
We will be joining Council members @JustinBrannan, @CMRitaJoseph & @EricDinowitzNY, as well as @CUNYRising, & @PSC_CUNY
